Where It All Started (sequel to The Challenge)

Chapter 22 (part 2)

-30 minutes later-
A nurse came out from the room to talk to Lucas.

"It was just a false alarm, she is alright." The nurse reassured him.

Lucas let out a sigh of relief. Thank god.

"Can I see her??" Lucas asked.

The nurse shook her head. "Im sorry, visiting hours are over. You can come back tomorrow."

Lucas bit his lip and then remembered something. "Okay, thank you."

He started to walk out into the parking lot to find his car when he remembered he didn't have a ride.

He grabbed out his phone and dialed Farkle.

He picked up after a few rings. "Hello?"

"Hey Farkle." Lucas said.

"Lucas!! Where have you been all day?? I've been looking for you!!"

"It's kinda a long story.. I'll tell you if you pick me up at the hospital??"

"Wha---alright. Can Riley come too?"

"Sure."

They hung up and Lucas sat at the bench by the entrance.

He suddenly remembered as he sat that Maya's mom never returned.

He didn't remember Maya saying anything about her mom ever...

Suddenly, he came back to reality when he heard a car honking.

He saw Farkle and Riley in the front seats, waving at him.

He walked over and got into the back seats.

Before Farkle started driving, he turned around in his seat. "Can you explain??"

"Where's Maya??" Riley asked worriedly.

Lucas sighed. "I'll explain it all but can you take me to the nearest jewelry store please??"

Farkle was hesitant but then did as told. "Okay now explain."

-the next day-
Lucas walked into the hospital, with a bag.

"Can I see Maya hart?" He asked the lady.

The lady nodded and he went to the same room as yesterday.

He opened the door quietly and looked inside.

Maya still looked the same as yesterday, peaceful and asleep.

He sighed, and then took a seat next to her.

Maya's POV:
I heard a door suddenly open from where I was.

I've tried my hardest to open my eyes since yesterday.

But i can't seem to do it.

I can hear everything around me, but I can't see.

I don't remember why I am in this situation, I just know it involved a car.

I suddenly heard a very familiar voice.

"Maya... I know you can't hear me but." I heard ruffling of papers for a second.

"Happy birthday babe... I got you a charm bracelet." He said, slightly poking my hand.

A ton of memories hit me like a brick.

"You remembered." I said weakly.

A/N
This was so adorable aw, I missed Laya.

More information on missy and Lucas will be revealed later.

I have finals on Wednesday and Thursday so I don't know when I'll update next :/

Luckily, I got a two week winter break! :DD

Well, I'm off to studying. 😞
