Chapter 27:

"M-my mom?" I said, taken aback by what the nurse said.

Aunt Becky looked surprised as well and then quickly stood up.

"I think I should get going." She said, kissing me on the cheek and then dragging Ava out of the room.

I stared at the door and i was alone again.

I put my hands over my face and just sighed loudly.

My life is literally so confusing.

Why can't it go back to the way it used to be? Why was my mom here? How did she find me? Why did Lucas have sex with missy? Why is there a missy?

So many questions that need to be answered..

A different nurse came in the room and I spoke up.

"Do you know when I get to leave?" I asked.

The nurse looked at me. "A few days if everything is going alright."

There's nothing even wrong with me, why am I still here?

I didn't argue with her and nodded, thanking her.

The door opened and in came Lucas with a shopping bag in his hand. "Hey Maya."

I sat up in my bed, "hey Lucas."

He took a bouquet of flowers out of the bag and handed them to me. "Beautiful flowers for a beautiful girl."

I took them. "Very cheesy friar, very cheesy."

"Well I can take them back if you want." He said, reaching for them.

I pulled them away from him, "no I want them."

I set them aside on my table next to the bed.

He smiled as he pulled up a chair to my side.

We sat in silence, thoughts whirling through my head.

I took a deep breath. "Lucas?"

"Yes?"

I reached for his hand. "Tell me how you had sex with missy."

He looked at me, surprised at my words.

Suddenly, a nurse burst in the room. "Good news, Maya. You can go home today!"

I didn't stop looking at Lucas but I nodded. "Yay."

"But you have to be in a wheelchair for a few days, you may be a little wobbly." The nude got out a wheelchair and set it next to Lucas.

Lucas let go of my hand and helped me into the wheelchair.

I set in the wheelchair, stretching out my legs. It was nice not to be in a bed.

I looked up at him. "This conversation isn't over."

He sighed. "I know."

I got signed out of the hospital and Lucas wheeled me out to his car.

We put the wheelchair in the truck and I leaned my hand on Lucas's shoulder.

I got to the passangers seat. "Thanks."

Lucas got in the seat next to me and drove off.

---
After a little while, I realized we weren't going the direction of my house.

"Umm.. Lucas where are we going?" I asked.

He looked at me and smiled. "A place. OUR place."

We reached the place and I smiled up at the treehouse. "You're right."

We got up and I looked up. "I can't climb up there."

Lucas reached for my waist and picked me up bridal style, "that's what I am here for."

I wrapped my arms around his neck. "Well don't drop me."

He chuckled slightly and we made it up with no broken bones.

We sat at the top and it was silence once again.

Lucas took a breath and looked at me. "Missy and I had sex when we were dating... I was drunk that night and it was a horrible mistake."

I locked eyes with him. "This wasn't when we were dating?"

He shook his head.

I was a little relieved to find out Lucas wasn't cheating on me.

"And..." Lucas looked down at his lap.

"Missy had to take a... Pregnancy test a few days after." He was whispering at this point so I could barely hear him.

I waited for him to go on and nudged his shoulder.

"She was pregnant but... Missy killed the baby a few weeks after she found out."
