Chapter 19

Maya's POV:
I couldn't see anything. I could barely feel any bones in my body.

I tried to open my eyes, but I wasn't able to.

I don't remember a single thing that has happened to me.

I barely remember who I am.

-Flashback- third person point of view
The car rushed by, going more than the speed limit was.

"I hope you and missy and your future child are happy!!" Maya exclaimed, unaware of her surroundings.

"Maya watch out!!" Lucas yelled.

But he was too late.

"What??" Maya turned towards the car and screamed.

And the car went by, slowing down a little bit.

"Maya!!" Lucas yelled, rushing to the middle of the street. He didn't care.

He stared at Maya. She looked completely lifeless.

Lucas felt her pulse to make sure she was breathing. She was a little bit.

A teenager got out of the car. "I'm so sorry!! I wasn't paying attention."

"Obviously." Lucas muttered.

"I called 911." He got into his car and then left.

"Son of a bitch." Lucas muttered.

He carefully picked Maya up and took her to the curb.

He laid her carefully in his lap and wiped his slight tears. "It should've been me. Maya Hart... I am so sorry. I love y--"

That's when sirens started coming towards Lucas.

He stood up as it stopped and got out a stretch bed.

He watched as they lift Maya up on the bed and put her into the truck.

"Where are her parents?" The man asked Lucas.

"Umm...her aunt is her guardian and she's not here."

"Are you her boyfriend?"

"Yeah."

Lucas got in and they closed the doors. And they were moving.

Lucas didn't have aunt Becky's number, but he would figure it out later.

Lucas sighed, looking at his girlfriend and grabbed her hand. She didn't grab it back.

They arrived at the hospital and they got out.

The nurses immediately got Maya a room and Lucas tried his best to sign Lucas in.

"Maya doesn't live with her parents." Lucas said, trying to explain to the lady behind the counter.

"Then who is her guardian??" The lady asked.

Before Lucas could answer, a lady burst in. "I'm Maya's guardian."
