I turn around almost immediately, clearing my throat, as I enclose the key within the tight hold of my fingers.

I give a one-sided shoulder shrug trying to appear totally cool, while my heart is hammering away.

" Just wandering around the room? Is there a problem?" I ask, gulping trying to moisten my dry throat.

From his angle he possibly can't have seen the key. If he has, there's no way to escape. Everything I say now is like throwing a stone in the darkness. Might hit the target or maybe not.

"Hm." A short clipped hmm.

Has he seen the key?

Oh Lord Shiva, help me!

I avert my eyes, unable to look at him anymore, afraid I will be caught if he probes a little more into my eyes. I wonder if that report is indeed important enough for me to take such risks?

Anyway, I make my way to the bed, pulling over the covers. Shuffling into the warmth of the cover, I lay down, sleep nudging the corners of my mind.

You can't sleep. My mind reminds me.

" You forgot to take the medicine," Basheer says, as soon as I close my eyes.

" Huh? Oh." I sit up, taking the pill and the glass half-full of water from his hand. I should have already thrown a tablet. I can't just have the medicine.

I pretend to swallow it when actually I just hide it in between two of my fingers followed by gulping the water.

The cough syrup? Oh no!

" Here." He says, handing me the bottle.

Oh no. I can never plan perfectly can I?

I can't just throw it.
