A/N I'm not sorry.. I saw this on Pinterest and thought it was great so here we are, Heavin modern au, where Devin Apparently was with some one before Heath!

"Merry Christmas Devin!" Raina yelled, running over, her giant Christmas sweater bouncing with each step.

"Hey, Merry Christmas. How are you?" Devin asked, lifting her arm to better support her youngest.

"I'm good," Raina said smiling. Raina was currently trying to get her masters degree in woman's history and was already tired even though she just started a few months ago. "How's the wedding planning going?" Raina asked going to take the baby from her.

"Fine I guess," Devin replied, walking over to a dark green love seat, which was probably only put out for this party, "I mean our wedding planner has been a god send, but the venue we had just canceled, and every wedding dress store is closed until after New Years," Devin confessed, rubbing her temples.

"Oh that has to suck, you know a girl in one of my classes aunt owns a wedding store. I could talk you up, if you'd like?" Raina asked bouncing her niece on her knee.

"Oh my god that would be amazing, thank you!" Devin sighed, reaching over to put her hand on her soon to be sisters-in-law's shoulder.

"Consider it my wedding gift," Raina said, laughing slightly. "So has Catie started walking?" She asked, referring to the almost two year old in her lap.

"Yeah, small steps but she getting braver," Devin replied, letting Catie take hold of her finger.

"Well aren't you just getting so big," Raina said to Catie, switching to a baby voice. Devin laughed slightly and leaned back, trying to rub the tiredness out of her eyes.

"Hey are you okay?" Raina asked, lifting one of her eyebrows.

"Yeah, yeah it's just it's weird to think that Emily's already going to kindergarten and Catie's walking it's just," Devin paused trying to find the right word.

"Weird?" Raina asked, trying to help Devin find the right word. Her head tilted, and her knee still bouncing.

"No, it's just, it feels like yesterday that I broke up with Ben and was a single mom trying not miss out on any on Emily's big moments," Devin laughed, remembering just how many times it took her oldest to say the word mama.

"Yeah, I can see how that could be tough, but now you have us and I doubt Heath is going anywhere," Raina said, making Devin burst out in laughter.

"Oh, I forgot to tell you, so a few weeks ago before Christmas break, I asked Heath to take Emily to school so I could get a head start at the vet," Devin said, immediately sitting up straighter.

"Uh huh," Raina said, holding Catie closer to her.

"And there was a mom with her son, I think?" Devin paused trying to remember if the woman had a son or a daughter, "yeah son, and she went up to Heath and started talking about how cute Emily was and then she mentioned how she looked nothing like Heath. And asked if she was adopted."

"Oh no," Raina interrupted, laughing slightly.

"Yeah I know, so Heath told her that, instead of the usual response that I was with someone else before him, she just looked like her mother," Devin finished her story with pointing at Catie, who you could tell was Heath's kid.

Raina burst out laughing, trying to catch her breath and trying not to drop her niece, "oh my god that is great!" Raina said, just barely getting her breath back, "What is this the eighth time he's done this?" Raina asked jokingly.

"Tenth actually, like you can tell that Emily and Catie are sisters but you can also tell they have different dads!" Devin told her, and Raina nodded in agreement.

"Wait, please tell me he had Catie with him," Raina asked, a giddy smirk on her face.

"Sadly no, but they kept talking and he showed her a picture of all of us though, pretty sure she had figured it out by then," Devin said, almost out of breath from laughing so hard.

"Oh speaking of Emily, last time we talked you said she was having nightmares? Has she gotten better?" Raina asked, suddenly concerned.

"No, they've gotten to the point to where she refuses to sleep without at least five lights on, and one of us in her room until she falls asleep," Devin said, glad she could talk to Raina about her oldest night terrors.

"She gets that from my side of the family," Devin turned to see her fiancé standing next her, Emily hiding behind his legs. Both Devin and Raina had extremely confused looks on their faces, "What? What did I say?" Heath asked his head tilted and his arm instinctively tightening around both Emily and Devin.

"Hey, I wonder what other diseases Emily has gotten from her step father, you know the man she isn't genetically related to," Raina said slowly as if talking to a toddler or trying to hold back her laughter, you honestly couldn't tell.

Heath's face quickly started to portray the realization he must of been having, small chuckles quickly turning into loud laughter. "Okay, yeah I dumb got it," Heath said, burying his head into the crook of Devin's neck in embarrassment.

"Hey honey, at least it's not as bad as the time you told the lady at the grocery store that Emily gets her eyes from you," Devin said starting to run her fiancé's back.

"Yeah, that wasn't my smartest move," Heath said, and Devin could feel him chuckling.

"Is Papa alright?" Emily asked, pulling on Devin's red maxi dress.

"He's fine pumpkin, just," Devin paused trying to stop herself from saying that Heath was dying of embarrassment, knowing that would just worry her daughter more.

"I'm just taking in how beautiful your mother is," Heath said, going over to Raina and taking Catie from her.

"Ew," Emily said, going to sit next to Devin.

"Yes ew," Devin joked, making direct eye contact with Heath.

"Haha very funny, anyways Em what do you want for Christmas?" Heath asked.

"Nope I'm not telling you or else Santa won't bring it to me," Emily said turning away from her step dad and crossing her arms.

"Pumpkin that's wishes," Devin whispered in her daughters ear.

"Santa grants wishes?" Heath teased, getting a smack in the arm in response.

"Well if that's wishes, I want," Emily paused as if trying to figure out what she really wanted, "I don't know," Emily said, starting to walk over to the buffet table, Heath quickly following her.

Devin leaned back, sighing, and held Catie closer to her chest. She just couldn't believe how lucky she had gotten and how much she loved her weird family.
