Death Befalls Her

They met at a midnight ball.

Dancing the night away.

Her velvet warm brown eyes smiled behind the mask.

They both wanted the moment to last forever.

Laughing and talking together all night.

They took a stroll in the garden the moon casting it's spell.

A chill in the late night air.

They walked arm in arm without a care.

Unaware that danger lurked there.

Sinister and marked by evil.

Humanity sucked away.

A heart left shriveled and dark.

Waiting for the moment to attack.

Hearing a odd sound she glanced back.

Screaming in unbridled terror.

The vampire smirked with his sinister stare.

Grabbing her from behind and sinking his fangs in, drinking his fill.

Her suitor tried desperately to save her life.

The vampire tossed her to the ground.

Looking on without a care.

She lay pale and silent not making a sound.

Her glassy eyes open wide in a dead stare.

The stench of blood in the air.

The vampire with strength much stronger than a mere mortal, moved in for his next kill.

Death didn't befall him, he was turned into what he has grown to despise.

His loved one murdered before his eyes.

Now a vampire, but hunter too.

His need for revenge burning within.

Sadness fills him as be yearns for all he lost.

Seeking vengeance at all costs.

He sits gazing at her mask.

His last memory of her that tragic night.

He fights immortality for an eternity.

His broken heart forever his plight.
