Have you felt the kiss of death?

Have you felt the kiss of death?

His frigid breath caressing your lips.

The pressure of his bones digging into your skin.

He's come calling to gather your soul.

Coldness surrounds you as you drift away.

Yet he keeps reviving you.

Not ready yet to claim you as his.

Just when your about to fall over the edge.

The darkness catches you brings you back.

Your heart races.

Emptiness you can taste.

Your mind struggling with the need to survive.

Yet there's the dark temptation to die.

Thoughts in turmoil.

Your mind riots with your emotions.

Close your eyes to quiet the internal screams.

Then the demons come rushing in, battle of the wells.

Still you lay there waiting for them to quiet so you can have a moment of peace at last.

Moments pass and the screams turn to whispers.

The demons in the shadows relentlessly pace.

Still death tracing your lips with his fingers tips.

Craving darkness as numb bliss.

You embrace it as it seeps under your skin.

You feel it brooding within.

Letting it engulf you.

Shutting off emotion from within.

Pushing death away.

All the while knowing he is sure to return another day.

Eventually he will stake his claim.

Have you ever felt the kiss of death?

His frigid breath caressing your lips.

Numbing velvet waves of dark bliss.
