She had been staring at the blank word document for what felt like years. Something was yet to be typed in, but Y/N's mind was completely empty. She felt frustrated and very tired. Y/N had just wasted her free day answering stupid BuzzFeed quizzes and binging the TV show she had just found on Netflix instead of writing a thing.

Y/N sighed in defeat, finally giving up on writing a thing that very night. She closed her laptop and pushed it away from her. She pulled the blanket tighter around her body and snuggled into the warm oversized sweatshirt, which she had just stolen from her best friend's room.

"So, how's the whole I'm not procrastinating thing going?" Tom laughed as he watched from the doorframe at the way his best friend was lying down, cuddled in a little ball covered by her blanket.

Y/N groaned in annoyance, "Would you please leave me alone? It's my free day, I'm not babysitting you," She laughed and threw a pillow at him without looking. It barely missed the lamp that was on a table close to the door, "Careful there darling, we don't want anything breaking, do we?"

The blanket was pulled off her body in a swift motion after Tom placed the laptop on the bedside table. Y/N sighed as her best friend pulled on her arm to try and get her out of bed, but it was of no use. Tom sat next to his best friend, "C'mon Y/N, I know he hurt you, but he's not worth it. You're great and he didn't deserve you.

Y/N shook her head. Tom still thought she was upset over her breakup with Wesley; truth was, she had gotten over it a while ago and expected it weeks before it happened, "I'm fine Tom, I promise. I just cannot write right now and it's stressful."

Tom looked at Y/N sceptically but eventually dropped it. They just sat in silence until Tom spoke again a few minutes later, "I actually came to ask if you wanted to come to the pub with Brianna and I."

She smiled softly at the offer, but shook her head, "I don't want to interfere. She's your girlfriend and you two need to spend some time alone," Tom had been dating Brianna for a while and they barely spent time alone as of late. Y/N knew Brianna was leaving to film very soon. Y/N spent way too much time with Tom as it was.

Tom and Y/N had been best friends ever since the two were little. They had met each other at the dance studio they both went to, Nifty Feet. As years passed their friendship had just frown stronger to the point where they shared everything with each other, even a house. She had always seen him as her confidante and even a brother figure. That was all Tom was to her at the time.

Things had changed the moment Brianna came into the picture. They had met each other on the set of one of Tom's newer movies and like the young man said, it had almost bene love at first sight. Y/N realised way too late that she was in love with Tom, not like there was anything she could do about it anyway, she was dating Wesley at the time.

Brianna was perfect for Tom though, she was drop dead gorgeous and the sweetest girl Y/N had ever met.

Unfortunately, she was also the girl that helped her realise the feelings she had for her best friend, ones that she had put effort into ignoring, until it was too late.

Her best friend of years brought her back to reality when he spoke up, "Bother us? You have to be joking. Sometimes I think Bri loves you more than I do. We just want you to have a great time. You've been cooped up at home, overwhelming yourself with work for weeks Y/N."

Y/N sighed, still debating whether or not she should go out or not. The young woman knew she was about to leave again. She was a very busy scriptwriter and the new season of the TV series she was writing for was about to star filming, "Fine, I'll go."

"That's what I like to hear N/N. C'mon."

When they walked into the pub, Brianna was already waiting for them, sitting down on a booth close to the entrance. When she saw the pair enter, a smile formed on her face and she waved at the both of them. Brianna greeted her with a hug and her usual warm smile. Tom left a chaste kiss on Brianna's lips and sat next to her on the booth, Y/N sat opposite to them and Bri didn't hesitate to start a conversation with the two.

"So, Y/N, Tom told me you guys start filming for the new season soon?" Y/N nodded with a smile, "Yeah, we start in two weeks."

"That's great, how's Wesley?" Brianna wondered. Tom almost winced at the question. He had completely forgotten to tell her that they had broken up. Y/N grabbed one of the three glasses of wine where on the table and took a sip, "We broke up a few months ago."

Tom nodded, "He was an asshole anyway," Her best friend added and Y/N didn't hesitate to agree. After that, Y/N sat in silence and listened to one of Brianna's stories. She couldn't help but notice the way Tom looked at his girlfriend. His eyes always sparkled and there was always a small smile on his face as well as a slight blush on his cheeks. For a second, Y/N wondered if Wesley had ever looked at her that way.

Once Y/N turned her attention back to the couple, she saw the blonde whispering in Tom's ear as he laughed. She felt bad, it was obvious that they needed privacy, as much as the pair tried to deny it.

"Thank you guys for inviting me, I really needed the break but I have to go, I just got an email from the boss. You wanna come over tomorrow Bri? We have so much to catch up on," Y/N smiled and hoped they'd take her bullshit excuse, "Sure! I'd love to."

Y/N nodded and walked out of the pub after saying goodbye to them. Things barely seemed clear anymore, was she actually upset because of her breakup with Wesley? Were her thoughts of liking Tom an effect from the breakup?

"Honestly, you are a lost cause. You're in love," Harrison told her for what seemed like the third time since she got back from the pub. In his words, he was trying to help, but frankly, he just frustrated Y/N, "I'm not in love with Tom, that's bullshit."

The young man sighed, "Why doesn't I put this in another perspective?," Y/N rolled her eyes but nodded, "Did you ever get jealous when girls got close to Wesley?" Y/N shook her head.

"They why do you when girls get close to Tom?" Harrison raised his eyebrows, "He's my best friend Haz! It has nothing to do with  the feelings you say I have for him."

"If you say so, then why do I have to hear drunk Y/N going off on how much she loves Tom?" Her eyes grew wide at  Harrison's comment, "I do that?"

Haz hummed in response, "All the time."

She sighed and buried her face in her hands, "Should I even say anything? I mean, I know he's dating Bri but I..."

The blue-eyed man shook his head as he tried to think of a way to tell her the truth, " You've already told him. Well, drunk you has. He doesn't- look, he made me promise not to tell you anything but seeing you like this... He rejected you. When he saw you didn't remember a thing Tom kept quiet."

Y/N nodded at the confession, "It's fine. I've just got another silly crush. I'll get over it," She offered Haz a smile, even though both of them knew it a lie, even though they both knew what Y/N felt was a lot more than just a simple girl crush.
