Heartbeats. One after another they flowed into your head and chest. It was kind of heard not to hear your own pulse when you were laying still on your bed. Staring at your star splattered ceiling, your thoughts swam around your mind in boredom. Suddenly, a ping from your phone. After burning your corneas for a second, you took this opportunity to peek at the time; 3:20 AM. Another ping. You checked your notifications and saw that it was Dib, your boyfriend. You opened it:

"When you wake up I need to tell you something." "It's important." You cock a brown, sitting up.  

"What is it?" He was typing.

"Why are you up??"

"Just can't sleep." "What was the thing you needed to tell me?"

"Oh, well..." "I was wondering if I could stay over for a while." "Because, I know how lonely you get because of how big and empty your house is all by yourself...." You smiled.

"Yeah, you could come over now if you want."

"Yeah!" "I'll be right over!"

"Ok." See ya then <3." You lied back down with your phone on your stomach and an arm across your forehead. Unable to stop thinking about how cute he was, you couldn't help but smile. He had always looked out for you, even if it was above and beyond what one would usually do for their partner. The doorbell rang. You leapt from your resting place, quickly sliding downstairs to heed the call. Opening the door, you were greeted with the usual goofy smile of your favorite person. 

"Hey." You smiled in response.

"Hey." You moved aside to let him in. Dib looked over at you as you began to yawn. 

"Oh! You should get some sleep!" A chuckled escaped you. 

"I guess I should. Want to join me?" A blush burst across his face.

"S-sure." You took his hand, leading him to your room. The two of you entered, you flopping onto your bed, Dib, standing there, looking like he had no idea how to react.

"Are you just gonna stand there or are you gonna get in bed?" He blushed more causing you to throw a smile his way. He cautiously crawled into bed with you and hugged you tight, as if you'd disappear. A smile spread across your face in response to this. The two of you fell asleep like this, blissful in each other's presence.
