The footsteps of Irkens and the sea of voices on the extremely large ship was normal. But today wasn't. Today was the day you were going to really prank your other half. You were very good at pulling jokes and goofs, but today was the day that you've been planning for a month. For today, was April 1st back on your home planet, Earth. Purple loved your pranks and mischief you caused, being extremely attached to you. He always kept you close to him or in the room you two shared, which, you didn't mind at all. After all, being in a new place for the first month or two can be confusing and scary. The sound of the door to the room broke you from your thoughts. 

"Hi, (Y/N)-mate! How have you been?" This was your chance to set your plan in action. With your back to him, you answered his question.

"I'm fine," You paused, thinking "But, I have something to tell you, P." His head cocked in curiosity, his antenna innocently twitching. 

"What is it, my love?" You held back a giggle. This is it! You had the set up, now here comes the punchline!

"I think we should break up." There was nothing but silence that answered. You stifled another laugh. More silence. You turned around with a big, goofy smile on your face. "April fools!" But something knocked the smile right off your face, like a roundhouse kick to the chest. You were greeted with the Irken leader's face covered in angry, sad tears. You had messed up, big time. Nothing made Purple cry. This went from a harmless prank to a serious situation. "Purple..." He sniffled a little before finally responding.

"You don't love me anymore? Is that it? Am I not enough for you?!" You shook your head, taking his hands.

"No!! Of course you are enough, Purple!! It was a joke! I was joking! I don't want to actually break up with you!!" He sniffled again before pulling you into a tight embrace, almost as if fearing that you'd disappear. "I'm sorry. It was just a prank for April Fools Day." It was another minute before he spoke up again.

"What's April Fools?" You gave him a soft smile. 

"It's a day on Earth when you prank people you know for a whole day." This explanation seemed to confuse him.

"But, you prank me all the time. What's so special about April Fools?" You thought about it for a second and let out a small "huh". You looked up at him, giggling.

"I guess you have a point there, P." You two held each other for another minute before you looked up at him again. "Do you want me to make you donuts to make up for this?" He nodded vigorously, his big grin returning. You giggled, nodding. "Ok, I'll go make some for you." Before leaving the room you stopped in the doorway. "Hey, Purple?" He turned to you.

"Yes?" You turned your head, with a large smile. "I love you." He smiled back.

"I love you too."
