The moon had risen for the night, the light from the entity in the sky, illuminating the soulless city below. Night owls speckled the street and sidewalk, never crossing paths with the others. You happened to be one of them. You were on your way to see a particular person,or should I say alien to stargaze tonight. It  has been a while since the last time there was a clear night like this. You had discovered each other one day after you crash landed on this miserable planet. Since no one else would want to make eye contact, let alone look in your direction, you were out of disguise, letting your antenna flow freely and actually breath for once. They swayed to the beat of your step as you made your way to the brightly colored building in the grey neighborhood. You wrapped your knuckles against the door, shivering slightly from the small breeze flowing by. The door was swung open, a familiar, cocky grin greeting your slightly flustered face. 

"Greetings,(Y/N)!! Come into the mighty Zim's glorious base!!!!!!" You smiled back at him, mentally rolling your eyes. You always thought he was kinda cute with all his egotistical mannerisms. It's what made him, him. You entered the odd structure and followed the other Irken towards the elevating platform to get to the roof. You stood close to him as the piece of floor rose, lifting you two towards your destination. Zim either didn't notice your close proximity or didn't care because he didn't even glare or look at you. It was..... odd to say the least. You two had finally made it to the top of the base, Zim leading the way with his military-esque march. You had to hold back a giggle as his walk always amused you. As Zim sat himself down,you plopped yourself right next to him. The silence that followed wasn't awkward at all. It was actually kind of pleasant compared to the loud, annoying noises of the disgusting city. When the magenta-eyed Irken next to you took a deep, relaxed breath, you looked over at him. 

"(Y/N)?" You were surprised he had spoken to you. Usually the stargazing sessions, however rare, were completely silent. 

"Yes?" You replied, curious, tilting your head. He continued staring at the sky as he spoke back. 

"Zim thinks that the stars are as beautiful as you." A blushing hue spread across your face. 

"W-What?" You weren't quite sure you heard him correctly. He thinks you're....... beautiful? You noticed a dark color on his face as well. He wasn't kidding. You had heard him right. Your posture relaxed as the realization sunk in. A smile spread on your face. "Thanks, Zim." He relaxed as well, smiling. As your night continued, you had ended up holding hands with the other being on the roof, gazing up at the beauty of the universe.
