Obsessed Over Protective!Zim x Reader

For the past few months you have been friends (or in his words "allies") for a couple years now. You never would admit it, but you had a crush on him. It was obvious to others around you but never to him which was a miracle. No one said anything either because they were secretly hoping you'd finally grow a pair and tell him. Who is this mystery crush of yours? Well, Zim of course! You two have gotten only somewhat closer these past years in your eyes. You were slowly working your way to being better friends. The two of you never really did any "friend" stuff together, it was more or less just hanging out at his base and sitting around with him while he worked. It was boring to be quite honest. Yes, his handy work was impressive and all but he hated it when you talked to him while he was working and never let you explore anywhere. As you were thinking about all the stuff you never get to do with Zim, someone had walked up to you.

"Hey, (Y/N)." The other person stepped back as you jolted in surprise. Lifting your head, you could see who had interrupted you. It was Dib. You gripped your chest, calming your breathing before answering him.

"Hey, Dib." He gave you a small smile.

"So, I was wondering if you'd like to join me after school to my house to hang out?" Confusion rose in you. Dib wanted to hang out? Why? You two haven't really talked much so you could hardly call him a friend. But, since you were bored of sitting around the inside of the base, you accepted the offer. 

"Alright, that sounds.... nice, actually." You gave him a smile in return, liking that you were getting at least some attention, even if it wasn't from your crush. Meanwhile, however, the aforementioned person had been watching the whole time from the other side of the cafeteria. He was absolutely fuming. How dare someone, let alone his worst enemy, try to "hang out" with you. All this time, he wanted to keep you close and out of harms way. You were supposed to be his and his alone. He wanted you. His squeedlyspooch would flip-flop everytime you would talk to him. That's why he wanted you quite while he worked, so he wouldn't feel weird. He had to stop you from going. He thought until an idea popped into his head, a smirk on his face. Yes, perfect.  As this was going through his head, you were nearing the end of your conversation with Dib. 

"So, meet me at the front of the school?" You nodded, smiling more. This was gonna be so much fun. A shriek from the bell signified the end of lunch and before you knew it, you were in your seat and listening to the teacher drone on about a topic you didn't much care for. It felt like forever until the end of school was brought by the loud banging of the bell again. You sprang out of your seat, sprinting to the front of the building, bursting through the front doors. There you waited, only about a minute, until the tall human boy emerged from the river of people flowing out. You smiled and he smiled back. The two of you set off to his house, making light conversation. 

"So, (Y/N), how's life been treating you?" 

"Oh, y'know, it's been life." He cocked an eyebrow at you with a small chuckle.

"It's been life?" You laughed and shrugged.

"I don't know, I guess it's been alright." Silence. Awkward silence. Great. As you neared his abode, he stopped. This caught your attention and you stopped as well. "What's up, Dib?" A small, pink blush dusted his face. 

"I just.... have something to get off my chest." You tilted your head in curiosity. "(Y/N), I-" Before he could actually tell you what was on his mind, a blurry mass bashed into you. You felt like you were being embraced, so you opened your eyes and looked up. It was Zim. And he was pissed. He had locked a death stare onto Dib, his eyes squinted in fury, a growl letting rip from his vocal chords. His embrace on you was tight and protective, but light enough not to harm you. Your face exploded into a nice cherry red at the feeling of his arms around you. 

"Don't you dare touch her, human filth!! You stay away from what is rightfully Zim's!!! (Y/N) is mine!!!" His words made you blush even more. Did.... did this mean that he liked you too? Before you could even react, Zim swung you over his should and made a break for his base. You weren't quite sure what was happening, but you kinda liked it. As soon as you two were inside his colorful fortress, he plopped you down on the couch and demanded that the Computer seal the base. As it did so, Zim leaned in close, grabbing your attention. "You are mine and mine alone, (Y/N)-human. No one will take you from Zim!" You smiled and pulled him into a tight hug, surprising him. 

"I'll be yours forever."
