A Proposal

Warm spring day,

A cool wind is blowing.

Two people, walking hand in hand,

Like many times before.

The love between them, so visible.

They walk down a familiar street,

Thinking of all the memories they’ve shared.

They are going somewhere, she doesn’t know where,

He has a purpose in mind.

He talks about times past,

Walking by places where they experienced milestones,

Places of love.

She wonders why,

Why he is taking her on this trip.

And finally, they stop.

He asks if she remembers this spot.

She does, “The place where we met.”

And in this place of such happiness,

He turns to her, drops to his knee,

“Will you marry me?”
