"Baby, hey. Wake up."
I opened my eyes only to see a shadow sitting beside me. As I look around, I felt a hand touch my forehead.
"Hey, hey. Get up."
I looked at the guy who's talking to me but I couldn't see him clearly because of the heaviness I'm feeling on my eyes.
He slipped his hand behind my back to help me get up so I forced my body to sit down even If I wasn't feeling well.
"Ayan ang napapala mo. Diba sinabihan na kitang wag pumunta kahapon sa trabaho ko kasi nga naulan? Bakit tumuloy ka parin, ha? Habang patagal ng patagal, patigas na ng patigas yang ulo mo."
My head was supported by his arm, because of how close I am to him, I can now see him clearly.
I started to tear up because of how bad I feel and because of the guilt that I was feeling too. The tears started rolling from my eyes to my cheeks.
"Estella, ah shit. Why are you crying?"
Before I could answer, I heard a knock on my bedroom door and after a few seconds, I heard it open.
"Sir Gavin, sorry po kung kayo ang natawagan ko. Sobrang taas na po kasi talaga ng lagnat ni ma'am tapos hindi pa po ma-reach sila ma'am Crisel at ma'am Elaine. Pasensya na po talaga kung sakaling naistorbo ko po kayo."
Tumango-tango lang si Gavin at sabay kuha sa basang towel na dala ng isa sa mga maids at nilagay sa noo ko. Kinuha rin niya ang gamot at baso ng tubig sa tray at nilagay sa bedside table ko.
Paalis na sana ang naghatid ng gamot ko pero bago pa niya maisara ang pintuan ay biglang may tinanong si Gavin.
"Uh, how should I say this. Does Estella really cry when she's sick?"
"Ah yes po, sir. Iyakin po talaga si ma'am kapag may sakit."
"Oh." Gavin's mouth formed an 'o' shape before gesturing her to leave the room. After that, I heard the door of my room close.
I looked at the calendar inside my room to find out what date is it today.
My eyes grew wider when I saw that Gavin has a meeting today. I turned to him and saw that he was staring at me too.
"You okay?"
"What are you doing here? Don't you have a meeting with the board members?"
"I cancelled it."
Because of shock, my body instinctly bounced off away from his arms despite of my weak body.
"What?! Importante yun ah!"
He hooked his arm around my shoulders, pulling me closer to him to hug me.
"Mas importante pa sayo?" He said while looking down at me, obviously teasing me.
