Uunahin ko to kasi masyado akong na excite sa bago kong nalaman. It's regarding "you". I know some of you alam niyo na kung ano ang you sa Korean pero may natutunan kasi ako kahapon lang (sa korean ko to na friend galing) saka wala ito sa mga textbooks or any other learning site (meron siguro sa iba)
Namention ko na 당신 can be rude and although nadiscuss rin natin yung common titles, may times rin talaga na di tayo sure kung anong title gagamitin sa kanila. Kapag kausap mo ang isang stranger (possibly na meet mo lang sa streets casually), you can use the majestic 그쪽.
Ang literal meaning ng 그쪽 ay "that side" kasi 그 - that and 쪽 - side
She (my korean friend) said she doesn't know how to translate it in English but it's pretty much like 당신 but a lot better. Pero sometimes, hindi na sinasabi ang "you".
Example sentence na tinatanggal nila ang "you":
1. Kumain ka na?
instead of saying "have you eaten?". tatanungin ka lang nila ng "have eaten?" parang ganoon.
Here are example sentences na magagamit talaga ang 그쪽
Older person: merry christmas!
You: 그쪽도요! (You too! 그쪽+도 (도 particle here means "too"))
Older person: Are you okay?
You: 네 괜찮죠. 그쪽은요? (Yes i'm fine. How about you? (Notice the topic particle attached to 그쪽.)
So that's it! Hope ya guys learned something new. Questions? Just ask. I will respond to them :)
anyway gagamitin niyo lang naman ito kung 'di niyo talaga maiwasang gumamit ng "you"
By the way tip lang... Yung mga nagsasabi ng chingus please also refrain from saying that. Hindi lang din sa mali siya, parang weird talaga pakinggan. Kung ayaw ninyong matawag na Koreaboo, stop using romanization and practice using socially acceptable na Korean. You can say 친구들 instead.들 makes a noun plural
Example? Ge.
사람 = person
사람들 = people
친구 = friend
친구들 = friends
