"If we're going down together, better take another hit"

I stared at the tiled floor, my mind zoning out completely. I felt empty, lifeless even. I didn't feel anymore. I didn't want to.

I don't know how long I was neglecting everything around me, but I zoned back in when I heard the mention of my name.

I didn't turn to face whoever said it. I didn't move. My eyes just shifted over to my bandaged ankle, the white fabric hugging my damaged skin tightly.

It being a gunshot wound, it didn't take long to fix up. Of course, walking is almost an impossible task for me now.

It still hurt, or course. Physically and mentally.

Though to numb the pain, I numb my entire body. No thoughts. No feelings.

The entire situation caused me to think.

A lot.

So many accidents. So many incidents. So many unfortunate things happening to me and all the people that I love.

All I have to ask, is why.

What do I even have to lose.

I've only thought about this very few times in my lifetime.

I've thought,

What if I stopped existing?

No, I'm not talking about dying. I'm not suicidal.

But I think this way, not because I hate myself, or that I'm depressed.

No.

I think this way, because of the incidents.

Almost being murdered back when I was sixteen.

Olivia dying.

My mother dying in a flight crash.

Almost dying in a springlock accident.

William's springlock accident.

Michael getting hit by the scooper.

And now a gunshot wound.

I didn't want this.

I didn't want any of this.

I glanced up to the man in front of me.

Henry Emily.

"Come on." He said quietly. "Let's get going."

I almost didn't even respond. I just gave a small nod and slowly transitioned to the wheelchair.

I knew Henry was hurt.

I mean, who wouldn't be?

Finding out your best friend, a man you thought you could trust with your life, is a murderer.

"I'm sorry." I said quietly. I couldn't speak very loudly, considering I haven't spoken a word for a long period of time.

"For what?" A slightly confused look formed on Henry's face.

He was like me.

Lifeless.

"For everything." I responded, looking down at the floor.

"You don't have anything to be sorry for, Y/n."

"I know, it's just.. I feel.. I feel like I'm responsible for some things."

Henry sighed, pushing my wheelchair down the hallway of the hospital.

It was quiet as we entered the elevator.

"How long have you known?" The older male asked.

I looked up at Henry before signing.

"Long enough."

Henry seemed to understand.

"Y/n, I-.. I'm.. honestly so sorry." He said.

"For what?" I asked.

"For not believing you. I thought you might've been losing your mind, but.. now.. now I realize what you meant.."

He was quiet for a moment longer.

"I didn't tell the cops." He said.

"What?" I was genuinely surprised.

"I know, I know, it's just.. I'm.. scared." Henry had a pained look covering his face.

"Scared that he'll do something if you do tell?" I asked.

"No, no. It's not particularly that." He said. "I'm.. not even sure why I'm scared."

The elevator stopped, and he continued to push the wheelchair.

Henry pulled into the driveway of the Afton household.

I sat in the passenger seat, looking towards Henry once we stopped.

"Henry." I stated quietly.

"Hm?" He hummed a response.

I hugged him tightly.

"Thank you." He said.

"Anytime."

I saw Henry smile for the first time in a very long time. I flashed a smile back.

I noticed William walking outside. Henry's solemn expression returned.

"I'll see you soon." I waved Henry a goodbye. "I'll call to check up on you soon, alright?"

He nods, waving a goodbye.

With the help of William, I got out of the car.

I watched as Henry drove off, the sun now starting to rise.
