Twenty-six

It's not that everyday I encounter problems like this. Fortunately, I am handling the business well kaya wala masyadong problema. In fact, this is the first time after a year, the reason why I want to be in touch with everything as we try to fix it.

Dad actually wanted me to just focus on the main hotel at the Metro since this is just a smaller branch compared to the other hotels that we had. But I refused to just sit down and wait for my staffs to fix this issue. After all, I'll be able to learn from this experience. The next time this would happen, I immediately know what to do. Hopefully, there will be no next time.

At hindi nga ako nadismaya sa naging resulta ng ads namin. Summer came, and the tourists flocked our hotel. The digits doubled and even reached its highest peak. All the hardworks and efforts are all worth it. Nevermind the anxiety of taking the big risk.

"Ma'am, I've got Dina holding in line 2" saad ni Maya sa intercom.

"Connect me, Maya"

And now, after two weeks, I'm back at my office. Tons of workshits are waiting for me kaya ngayon ay di ako magkaundagaga sa pagtatrabaho. Marami ang tambak na documents na kailangan kong i-review at pati na rin mga meetings na na-cancel ay kailangan kong puntahan. I hardly had time to rest since yesterday.

"Okay. I want you to send me the progress report by lunch. I'll review it."

Dina is my café manager. Almost all the preparations are done at kakaunting polishing nalang ang kulang at magbubukas na talaga ang café ko. Bukas nga ay may taste testing kami for our menu. The reason why I need to do double workloads today kasi ayaw kong matambak na naman to bukas.

"Noted po, Ma'am"

The call ended after a while at balik na naman ako sa trabaho. Titigil lang pag kailangang pumunta ng meeting o di kaya'y kakain. Fortunately, I finished almost everything before the clock struck seven. Kakaunti nalang ang naiwan at alam kong kaya na ni Maya ang mga ito bukas habang wala ako.

Tumayo ako at nag inat. I can feel the numbness of my body dahil sa pagod. Nasulyapan ko ang sofa kaya doon ako nagtungo at agad na umupo. I removed my heels and coat bago humiga. The sofa is quite small for my height, but it still made me feel comfortable. I can't help but feel sleepy. Maaga pa naman kaya iidlip muna ako. It's traffic on the highway anyway. Mamaya nalang ako uuwi. Using my phone, I set the alarm. And then I dozed off.

Ang mabangong halimuyak ng pagkain ang nagpagising sa akin. Hindi pa tumutunog ang alarm ko kaya't batid kong hindi pa umabot sa dalawang oras ang tulog ko. Pagod pa rin ako nang umupo ako. Its as if my mind is still in haze kaya imbes na tumayo ay sinandal ko muna ang ulo ko sa sandalan habang nakapikit ang mata. Tuluyan lang na gising nang makarinig ng boses.

"Sorry, did I wake you up?"

Fiero, wearing a black slacks and a white long sleeves, is sitting on the one-seater sofa besides mine. May malamyos na ngiti sa mga labi niya habang patuloy na inaayos ang mga pagkaing hinahanda sa coffee table sa harap ko.

"Figured you'll be doing an overtime, so I came here to deliver your dinner" saad niya ulit. "Let's eat?"

I can't help but smile with his gestures. This guy really can really make me damn crazy with his sweet ways.

"Susunduin kita bukas kaya 'wag ka ng magdala ng sasakyan" saad niya sa kalagitnaan ng pagkain namin.

"Huwag na. I'll be on my café for the whole day tomorrow, and who knows, baka may puntahan ako saglit"
