Chapter Twenty-Seven - Let it Snow

With Sectionals over, Christmas had approached and I had never been more excited. One thing I wasn't excited about was buying a present for Blaine. I wanted something personal to us, though my mind was blank on anything that would really be something impressive. It was only after putting up the Christmas tree in Glee Club that Blaine and I spoke, both of us saying that we didn't really want much.

"Well, I have an idea maybe." Blaine teased, I insisted him to go on. "So my family have a little place in Zanesfield, nothing special but we use it to rent out to people. And I managed to convince them to let me have it for the weekend, so I was thinking as a Christmas present we could just go there, chill, spend some time together, no gifts involved."

"Easy for you to say when you're the one offering it, I'm not actually doing anything." I loved the idea, but I knew I'd spend the whole weekend feeling guilty. It was more Blaine's present to me than mine to his.

He shook his head, "It's literally nothing, firstly your time is a gift to me, besides, if it makes you happy you can drive there and back."

"I suppose that would do," I shrugged, I knew how much Blaine liked driving, even if I was the better driver. Then again, he was always the safer driver.

Our plans were disrupted when on the week of the weekend we were planning to go, Sue called us into our office with Kurt.

"Porcelain, pastry, potentially gay," Sue began, addressing us all in the order we were sitting in.

"I'm bi," Blaine muttered to himself, slightly unimpressed.

Sue continued, "The yuletide is upon us and everyone knows that Christmas is a time for forgiveness, so I have decided to forgive you for having no talent and ruining the American songbook one mash-up at a time. I've also forgiven you for forcing me to ruin in and promptly lose a humiliating statewide election."

"We.. accept your forgiveness?" I questioned, somewhat sarcastically.

"Now, Christmas isn't just a time when Jewish kids get slightly uncomfortable and dwarves get jobs as Santa's helpers in demeaning nonunion commercials that make them quietly die inside. No, Christmas is also a time to give back. Which is why this Friday I am volunteering at the Lima Homeless Shelter and I thought maybe you and your fellow glee clubbers might want to pitch in by giving the gift of song."
