Chapter Fourteen : Well, Let's Just Invite The Whole Neighborhood...

"Rose? " dad said.

"She's a good friend of mine. Sort of. We met today and.... "

"And? " dad said.

"Say I'm here for a sleepover. " Rose whispered in my ear.

"She's here for a sleepover. Can she stay! Please? Please? " I said.

"Yeah, she can st-"

"Oh thank you, thank you, thank you!!!" I screamed and hugged him.

Then I let go and grabbed Rose's hand and ran with her past dad, up the stairs, and to my room.

"Slow down! " Rose yelled.

I opened my door and pushed her in.

I was a little sad when I saw that my room hadn't changed since I had last been there. I noticed there was dust everywhere over everything.

I had been gone for a while hadn't I?

"I thought I was sleeping in the room next door. " Rose said wiping some dust off the desk in my room.

"You're the one who suggested the sleepover idea... "

"I have to sleep in this dump of a room! I'm starting to regret I accepted this job in the first place. My usual clients would never make me sleep in... This. " she said with disgust.

"Get over it. "

"Where will I sleep anyway? You wouldn't... Make me sleep on the floor! "

"That was the plan. " I said fishing through the closet, searching for a blanket.

"Why don't you sleep on the floor? " she said.

"Because it's my room and that's my bed and I've kinda missed it. "

"But I'm a guest! I deserve hospitality don't you think? "

I gave her an are you serious look.

"One, you don't shut up. Two, you're absolutely full of yourself. Three, you kill people! "

"You hire people who kill people!"

"You never shut up!"

"You never stop yelling! "

"You can't stop yelling about me yelling! "

"Are loud. Both of you. " Meia said interrupting us.

"Oh, sorry to intrude. Yuki, your house needs better security. I picked the locks so easily. " she said sitting on top of my bed. How did we not notice her when we came in?

"Picked the locks?" I said.

"Uh huh. " she said.

"You know Meia, that's extremely creepy. "

"Really? Where I come from its a highly regarded skill. "

Meia looked over at Rose and smiled.

"So, look who found an assassin. Good job, Yuki. We might be ready by tomorrow. "

Rose frowned.

"Is she working with us? If so, I'm charging extra. She looks like a little Barbie doll. I don't think she'll be useful. "

"I'm not useless! " Meia yelled.

"I mean look at her outfit! She's dressed like a little girl! I can't take her seriously! " Rose said.

I looked at Meia's outfit and sadly, had to agree. She was wearing a hot pink T-shirt and a frilly sparkly sliver skirt and hot pink cow girl boots. Her hair was also in three different ponytails on top of her head.

Yep, I can now see Meia and Mephisto together.

"I don't dress like a little girl! " she said.

"Yes you do! "

"Shut up! " I yelled.

They both stopped glaring at each other and began glaring at me.

"We don't have to fight guys. We seriously don't have time. The wicked bitch of the east is coming tomorrow and if we can't figure out how to stop her, we will die. So, can we stop arguing and work together? "

"I can stop arguing! " Meia said cheerily jumping up and down.

"No one can kill me. " Rose said smugly.

"Rose.... " I said annoyed.

"Fine. I'll try. But no promises, okay? "

"Good enough. " I said.

Then Meia screamed out happily making me jump.

"The odds are getting better for us! We now only have a 95% chance of dying. It used to be 98!"

"That gives me so much faith, Meia. Really. " I said.

"Sarcasm? " she said innocently.

"Good job. "

"What about the servant? " Meia said playing around with the ponytails on her head.

"I think I found her. My friend paku. "

"Does she know about all this? " Meia said.

"No. I haven't told her yet... "

"Servant? You guys have one too? " Rose said.

"She's not our servant. She's a volunteer at a charity. I think she's a part of the story. " I said.

"Story? " Rose said.

Me and Meia quickly explained the whole situation to her quickly.

She stood up after.

"You guys are crazy. I'm out. " she said walking towards the door.

"Rose! We really do need you. I know this all sounds crazy, I do. Please, just stay. " I said.

She turned around with an evil grin on her face.

"I got you to beg. " she said sadistically.

I hmped and turned my back to her.

"I got you to beg! I got you to beg!" she shouted.

"Oh, shut up. "

Little did both of them know Meia had slipped out again.

She was ready.

Ready to tell everyone why she got here. I have to tell them. I'm dying inside, she thought to herself as she slipped out the window.
