Chapter Thirteen : I Fought The Law And The Law Didn't Even Know...

When we got back to dad's dorm I relized the police were still there probably questioning mom and dad about Tai. I need Rose so I don't really want her to get carted off to jail right now.

"Rose! " I whisper shouted.

She turned around and glared at me.

"What? "

"Turn around. "

"Why? "

"Police." I said, pointing to the cop cars ahead.

"I so was gonna turn back. I just wanted to... Get a closer look... " she said neverously.

Keep telling yourself that hun.

I grabbed her hand and ran behind a tree.

"We'll wait here until the police go, okay? " I said.

She nodded her head yes and sat down.

"This is going to get boring. Quickly. " she said all matter of factly.

"Oh, suck it up. " I said, getting annoyed.

"The police could never catch me, you know. I'm the best in the business. You should be thanking me for even agreeing to your little whatever. It's anyone's honor to have known me and-"

"Shut up! I get it! Rose is the best! Zip it already! " I said.

She crossed her arms and glared a hole into my face.

"Really. You should be begging for my praise you know. Everyone else does..

"Where's that shy little girl I met not too long ago? " I said.

"I'm good at acting. Just another one of my many talents. I studied drama over in Europe. "

"Look, Rose. I'm all for getting to know each other and everything but now is not the best time. "

"Oh, I see. You're jealous... "

"Can you shut up! "

She stuck her tongue out at me.

"Oh real mature. " I said.

I was starting to wish she had killed me back there.

After twenty minutes of Rose's ramblings about how she's so good at this and that which I do not wish to explain because it was pure torture the first go round, the police finally left.

"Come on, Rose... " I said getting up and walking towards dad's dorm.

"You live in a dudes dorm! " Rose said.

"Yeah. With my cousin. " I said.

"Is that even allowed? "

"I don't care if it is or not. I'm tired. I'm hungry. I'm cranky. I've got stuff to do tomorrow that I'm not looking forward to. So shut up Rose. Please, shut up. "

"I don't know why you're being so mean to me. I've been being so nice to you. "

"Nice!?! "

"Uh huh. "

"What's you being rude? "

"No ones ever seen me being rude. They're usually dead before that happens... "

"Isn't that nice.... " I said.

I knocked on the door of the dorm.

"So I'm sleeping here tonight? " Rose asked.

"Yes. Room beside mine. "

"Th-Th-Th-Th-"

"Are you okay? " I asked.

"Yes, it's just I'm not used to the words, T-Thank you. "

A thank you? That was unexpected.

"You're welcome. "

"I'm kinda glad I didn't kill you, you know. " she said smiling.

"I'm kinda glad you didn't kill me too. " I said.

Then the door opened up.

"Hey dad, I hope you don't mind... See this is Rose... "
