I'm going to pick up the pieces
& build my soul and bones a home
It may not be perfect
But if the foundations are weak
I can knock it down
My life has to have more meaning
But there's always one thing on my mind
Everything I have been through
Is all for future plansBut it's dark in cold sleepless nights
& I struggle to keep my dreams lit
But I have you to keep me warm
You tell me with four hands between us
We have
4 thumbs &
16 fingers
To mend thisWhen I had no shelter in the storm
I let myself sit in the rain
To wash away the hurt
To wash away the memories of them
& then by the time the sun came to start
Burning
I had learned to be preparedI had ultimately learned
That some people my darlings,
Will never
ChangeI am brave to have felt that
Some people are out of touch &
Out of love
But I promise I may be slightly torn at the edges
But I will pick you up when you're getting down
And out of all of the pain
I can tell you
That I love you with all I amI'm nervous
But life has lead us to this
So I'm gonna paint the walls of
our home- with my colour understanding
Perhaps many times
Just to get it right
And colour in the gaps of our
Rib cages
With love and plansIf things go right we can take this
As a victory
Against those bastards in our
Pasts and take pictures
Of our middle fingers
To mail to them as a
Thank you
At lastIt's hard to say it, but I've been here
Before
So please put your heart with mine
In the brick walls of our future plans
And cement them with promises of
Love devotion and care
Let this house stand for the children
that pass on through
& let it be a reminderTo remember
Not to let anyone hold you down
Don't let them break your wings or crownI came from being homeless
To sleeping on couches
& now i'm stood here
Owning the keys to a front door
Of what I now call myBeautiful Home
- Thank you Ed Sheeran, I now believe in Lego House.
