Chapter 20: He's Only Three Quarter Bitch

Start from the beginning

The door opened and my mom poked her head through. "Morgan will you-"

Her eyes widened when she saw the dress and she stepped in fully.

"Oh my God my dress," she gasped, her hand on her chest.

I swear the vein sticking out on her neck was about to pop.

"Wha...what happened?" she asked frantically.

"I um...I accidentally spilled -"

She rose her hand to shush me. "This will never come out in time."

I held her shoulders as she fussed over it. "Mom, mom, calm down."

"B...but my dress...my dress it's...it's ruined."

"Mom, just breathe, it'll be okay," I consoled, leading her away from the dress.

"B...but what will you wear?"

"I'll figure it out," I told her, slowly guiding her towards the door. "It won't come close to the beautiful dress this was but I'll make something work."

"B...but."

"Mom, it'll be okay," I said as I ushered her into the hallway. "I promise."

I smiled at her and gave her a kiss on the cheek. "Don't worry."

She nodded, still in shock.

"Love you mom!" I grinned.

"Yeah...love...love you too honey," she managed to say as she walked away.

I closed the door behind me and leaned on it. My eyes locked with Shannon's and we both burst out into hysterical laughter.

~~~~~~~~
"So you actually pulled it off?" Aaron asked.
"I'm surprised myself that I got away with it," I laughed, taking my phone off speaker and putting it to my ear.
I stood up from my vanity and went to stand in front of my mirror. I had let my hair down so my curls dangled right above my shoulders. Ah yes, shrinkage was a bitch wasn't it?
The dress I had chosen was a scarlet strappy dress which showed a lot of my back. It was a bit out of my comfort zone but like Shannon said, I looked hot.
"And your mom didn't kill you so that's a plus," he said.
"She was mostly in shock to be honest," I said sheepishly.
I'll admit, I felt a little bad about doing that.
"So you're happy now I hope?" he chuckled.
I laughed softly. "I am. I'm wearing something much better so I guess that's lifted my spirits a bit."
"Damn I wish I could see you," he said.
I hesitated a bit, grateful that he couldn't see my face.
"Shit, that sounded weird," he said quickly after. "Sorry...I just meant...shit."
