Callie's pov:
"Mom! I'm home!" I yelled out, removing my shoes on my way in.
"Your dad and I are in the kitchen," my mom yelled back
"Why do you tell her where I am? I don't want her to know anything," father said to my mom
"Just... behave,"
My smile dropped and I slowly walked to the kitchen.
"Whatcha making?" I asked with a small smile
"Poison-" my mom cut him off
"Cookies!"
I smiled, " it'll most probably taste amazing"
"It won't because your dad helped me today," she beamed at him
He frowned and said, "I make the best cookies in the world!"
"You don't even know how to make them," mom said throwing flour at him.
"True but I can learn," he smiled and threw flour back.
"Oh you did not!"
"Yes I did!"
I smiled at their banter.
"Um guys can you not try to kill each other at least when I'm around?" I asked
"Sure honey but if he's gone I won't be sorry" and with that she threw flour again
"Not if I get you first" my dad yelled
My mom dashed out of the kitchen and my dad ran after her.
They're still children at heart.
Mason, my older brother, walked into the kitchen and looked at the mess.
He whistled, "damn what happened here? Did parents have a playful fight?"
"Yep exactly," I nodded my head
"Ugh old people love," sighed Mason
"I hope you get that, and understand what it means to love," I told him with a smile
"As if you know how to love," he frowned
"Boys have cooties," I said defensively
"Grow up!" He exclaimed
A very tired looking mom and dad come back into the kitchen, probably from all the running they were doing.
"Children... stop fighting" mom said out of breath
"Yeah... what she said," dad said with the same tone as mom
