Chapter 11

"In my defence, he was complaining about being hungry a lot." She laughs

"Hey guys." I say as we take our seats at the table and the only open spot for me was next to Vee much to my dismay

She however is so busy giggling at whatever Kendrick is saying that I don't think they noticed our presence yet.

"Hey Skylar, we still on for today right?" Seth asks me from across me

All heads snap towards me including our new lovebirds

"Yeah, definitely." I force  a smile

"Great, I'll pick you up at 4." Seth responds and I just nod

School goes on like it always does. Vicky dear hasn't bothered me after lunch and Kendrick hasn't uttered a word to me all day. Not that I'm complaining or anything

I get home and do my homework, my chores and I take a shower. I put on a black jean and a white large shirt which I tuck in and I think I look okay.  I go downstairs and have something to eat, I'm starving. Seth is going to be here anytime soon so I just have a banana.

Shortly after, there's a knock on the door and I answer it revealing a grinning Seth. At least one of us is excited about this.

"You look beautiful." He says causing me to raise my eyebrow. I always look like this if not worse

"Ready to go?" He asks after I don't say anything

"Yeah and uh, thanks." I say closing the front door and locking it

He guides me to his car, opening the passenger door for me kinda like how Kendrick does.

"Thanks." I send him a smile

He gets on his side of the car and he pulls out of the drive way. Astrid gave me the day off after Karen blurted out about my 'date' to her and the old girl just couldn't contain her excitement

"So where are we going?" I ask as we drive off

"I thought we'd go see a movie." He says

"Oh cool, that's totally fine." I actually love the movies.

The movie was great. Seth tried to get close to me but everytime I'd do something to back him off but he'll still try anyway.

"Wanna go get some food?" He asks as we walk out the cinema

I thought he'd never ask

"Yes please, I could eat a whole horse." I say rubing my belly

He chuckles, "You are a very funny human being Sky."

"So I've been told." I say recalling the time Kendrick told me that

We go to a pizza place and order a large pizza because Seth apparently doesn't want me starved. I would 'aww' but that's not 'aww' worthy

"You really were hungry huh?" He asks as I pick up my fifth pizza slice

Duh Einstein

I simply shrug my shoulders and he laughs in response

"Skylar, I like you." He blurts out

"I like you too Seth. You are one of my greatest friends." I try to ease my awkwardness

"No Skylar, I mean I like you like you." He fidgets with his fingers

Oh drumsticks

"Oh." Is all I master out

"Is that all you're going to say?"

I set my pizza slice down and fold my hands together preparing for what is about to leave my mouth

"Look Seth, you are an amazing person and I'm sure you'd make any girl happy but I'm not her. I see you as a brother and it'll be weird to see you as anything else other than that." He's just looking down as I speak so I take his hand in mine and continue

"I don't want this to ruin our friendship though, please don't let it. I still want to see you smile excitedly when you see me in the mornings at school and at the diner." I finish and he looks up at me with a pained expression and I feel like a horrible person

"Yeah, I'm not him after all. Come, I'll take you home." He says calmly and gets up leaving a 20dollar bill on the table

Who is him?

I take my last slice and follow him to his car. You can't let a perfectly good pizza go to waste

"Are we cool?" I ask worried that I might have lost Seth as a friend

He doesn't say anything, he simply nods and opens the passenger door for me closing it as I get in

The car ride is hella quiet, heck it is extremely awkward. He drops me off at home and as soon as I get out of his car, he speeds off.

And here I thought he was going to walk me to my door. What a gentleman.

"Hey daddy-o." I scream through the house as I enter

If mom was still here, she would've thrown a wooden spoon towards me from the kitchen

Speaking of kitchen, it smells good in here.

"In here kiddo." My dad yells back

"It smells extremely great in here. What are you making?" I ask my chef of a father

"My famous chicken stir fry wraps." My stomach explodes with excitement

I know what you are thinking, 'didn't she just eat?' Yes I just ate but I'm hungry again. Being active requires a lot of food, look at athletes. I'm not afraid of gaining weight either, unlike other girls I don't give two shits about what people think of my body. It's mine not ours after all.

"Dad I want to go to the gym after dinner, is that okay?" I ask scrolling through my phone

I honestly need to go to the training grounds today. I need to keep in shape and always ready for my next fight. I don't want Randy at my neck again after the fight with the all so ferocious Vee.

"When have I ever stopped you from going. Those muscles don't just work themselves now do they?" He laughs nudging my arm

"You damn right they don't." I say flexing.

"Language young lady." He says sternly

"Sorry, I got too excited." I hold up my hands and sheepishly laugh

"I will take you and pick you up once you're done okay? I don't want you taking the bus at night." He tells me

No biggie daddy-o, I'll just take the bus to the training grounds and take another back to the gym and you won't have to worry

"Aye aye Captain."
