THE VAMPIRE SMILED AS HE WATCHED THE GIRL HE SAVED SMILE SO WIDELY AS SHE LOOKED AROUND HER. There was so much life and music in the air, that you couldn't help but feel your hopes lighten.
"So is it everything you hoped for?" Marcel Gerard questioned as he stood in Rousseau's and Davina Claire nodded with a wide smile. "Yeah!" She breathed as she scanned the room, her eyes stopping at the sight of her old best friend. Tim was a sweet boy who was kind to everyone and Davina had always hated hiding her secret from him, and then never seeing him again after what happened at the Harvest.
"So we should probably go over the rules." Marcel stated, snapping the teenage girl from her thoughts and her gaze with a sigh, a smile still on her face.
"I won't talk to anyone about anything, I won't say anything about witches, or vampires, or Originals, or you. But you said you weren't gonna hover." Davina pouted as just as a woman, dressed in some leggings, a pair of timberland boots, an a plaid.
"She's right, Marcel. That's my job. Wait... Davina?" Maddie gasped, and the teenage witch looked at the woman with surprise. Making eye contact, Davina knew she would have to play along, so instead of jumping into the older girl's arms like she so desperately wanted to, she stared, pretending to be dumbfounded by the sight of her.
"Maddie? Oh my god." Davina smiled, making herself tear up. She hated lying to Marcel, but Maddie had been there for her since before she could remember. Maddie pulled the girl into a tight hug, ignoring Marcel's confused stare.
"Maddie, how do you know Davina?" Marcel questioned wearily, as if ready to attack. Maddie, knowing the tone of his voice and the stance he held, stepped away from the teenage girl and placed her hands up in surrender. "Marcel, you know I'm not a New Orleans witch, I have never been tied to their magic and I'd never hurt Davina. I promise you." Maddie vowed and Marcel looked at the Petrova Hybrid before looking down at Davina who nodded.
"I trust her. My mother hired her as a babysitter for me when she was twelve and I was nine. She's like my sister." Davina stated and Marcel visibly relaxed before Davina returned her attention to the Petrova Hybrid who looked relieved.
"Your house was abandoned, when I got here. I thought you died." Maddie lied with fake relief and Davina pulled the older girl into another tight hug. "I missed you." Davina stated, completely truthful and Maddie's eyes softened before the boy standing against the wall caught her attention.
Suddenly, this newfound appreciation for jazz made sense as she shot a smirk to the sixteen year old. Davina blushed and turned her attention to the music as Maddie looked at Marcel's worried face.
Maddie placed a hand on the older vampire's shoulder as she offered a soft smile. "You don't need to worry. I'll take care of her. And your other girl." Maddie winked nodding over the blonde bartender, who was currently having a conversation with two girls at the bar. Following the Petrova Hybrid's gaze, Marcel shook his head with a grin when he saw Camille.
