MADELINE GILBERT PETROVA CLOSED HER LOCKER AS THE BELL RANG, signalling the class and herself to get to class. A weird feeling grew in the pit of her stomach as she looked around. Everything was moving too fast or too slow, her breathing grew heavy before it went black.
Maddie gasped, her eyes snapping open as she observed her surroundings. She was in a class, Coach's class, and she was seated at her usual desk, students were opening their books and getting ready to learn. The bell rang again, the same bell that had just rung five minutes ago, as Stiles walked into the room, going to sit in the seat in front of her, where he usually sat only to find it was taken.
"Hi, sorry, I usually sit there." Stiles pointed out, trying not to be rude, but all he got was a response in sign language. Maddie looked up at Stiles in confusion as he looked at her, a look of pure bizarreness as he shrugged.
"Okay, n-no problem. That's all yours." Stiles breathed before taking the empty seat behind Maddie. The two started flipping through their books to get the right page only to stop when they both realised that everyone around them were sitting, frozen like statues.
"That's weird." Stiles commented as Maddie looked around in confusion. What the actual fuck was happening?!
Maddie's eyes found their way to coach as he also stood frozen. "Hey, coach. Thought I was in the wrong class for a second." Stiles stated and Maddie nodded.
"Yeah, me too." She commented, only to watch as her favourite teacher started signing the same sign language that the girl had done previously.
"Alrighty then." Maddie sighed in shock, looking back at Stiles who shook his head in the same disbelief. "Um, okay. I don't actually know sign language." Stiles tried and Maddie scoffed.
"Please, I didn't even know that Coach knew sign language." Maddie said to Stiles who huffed in agreement. "Yeah, me neither. I didn't even know that-" Stiles paused as he raised an eyebrow at the teacher who was still signing away. "-that that was even an election here." The boy finished and Maddie hummed.
"Well, this has been fun, I'm probably gonna just...go?" Maddie stated, closing her books only to hear shuffling from behind her. "Yeah, I'm right behind you." Stiles stated and Maddie nodded.
The two walked past the teacher, taking another look at the class who were all now signing the same thing. A loud pitched noise was heard and Maddie flinched as she held her ears due to sensitive hearing before it went black.
Maddie shot awake with a gasp as she looked around to see herself in an empty classroom. There was a stinging sensation on her left arm, as she looked down to see a pen in her right hand, and the words "wake up" written all down her left arm.
Maddie pulled down her sleeve with a grimace before exiting the classroom and jogging down the hall and into Coach's class, ignoring her thudding headache.
