Almost every Wattpad book starts with this shy girl and by the end of the book, or as soon as she meets the bad boy, she is this confident, outgoing and sassy girl.

Not quite people.

Shyness isn't a character flaw that needs to be developed, but the lack of confidence is. And I wish people would realize the difference.

A shy person won't magically become this super outgoing person, just like an extrovert won't just randomly become this shy little wallflower.

I feel like shyness gets treated as a negative trait that has to be developed, but why not stay true to the, well, truth and have the shy girl STILL BE SHY AT THE END OF THE BOOK.

She can develop other things like her lack of confidence, learn to speak in front of people and so on...but remember, you can't teach an introvert to like people.
