So I'm letting you go
There's nothing for me to hold
You're pulling away
When I'm grabbing you close
It's like a tug of war
But without you fighting it
It's just me on one end
While you're looking far ahead
I turn my back around
Saw what got your eyes glued
Eyes far different from mine
Cause they don't have the same shine
But still I walked up to you
And did my best to fake a smile
Time seems to stay frozen still
As I got lost in this nightmare
Tears are welling up my eyes
Fighting for a drop to fall
When you both embraced tight
Like we used to back in time
But the aching in my chest stopped
When you flashed your sweetest smile
All I want is for that smile to never fade
Even if it means we won't be on the same page
