BACK STORY
Maddie Birk was the daughter of a billionaire, Nathan Birk. Her mother had died when Maddie was born and her father was in a deep debt. One night, the men who needed the money from Nathan snuck into their home, killed Nathan, taking Maddie and trying to get answers out of her for where the moolah was hidden. When the billionaire was found dead and the daughter gone, Shawn Spencer, Santa Barbara Police Department Psychic, was hired for the case and helped track down Maddie. Once Shawn and the SBPD found her, Maddie was going to be put in child services, when Shawn decided to keep her as his own. Besides, having a teenager is easy, right?

P.P.S. Shawn and Maddie live at the Psych office. I'm too lazy to somehow write it in the story, so deal with it.
