Brothers

Hi, the name is New Zealand. You probably don't know me. Not many people do. It's understandable though since I hardly make a statement in this crazy world. I'm almost 16 in country-years and I go to school with my four brothers.

You know my brothers. Everyone does. The oldest is America, he is in his final year at school and can't wait to leave. He works part-time at the Mc Donalds down the road from our school. Then there is Canada, the nicer brother. He is a year younger than America but he is smarter, taller and actually does his homework.

And then there is Australia. I have a lot to say about him. Everyone thinks we are twins because of how similar look. Fun fact, I am older than him by like 50 human years. It doesn't make me that much older, but I am still older, Aussie doesn't like to admit it though. He is a pain in the ass when he wants to be. We are in the same year which doesn't help either.

You would think that having your closest brother in your class would be great, but he really only bullies me. I'm the quiet kid that sits at the front of the class trying to learn, while Aussie sits at the back with a couple of his 'mates' throwing things at me.

Luckily, not all of my classes are with him. We chose different subjects but we were still in the same maths, English and history class. As countries, it seems kind of pointless learning about history since we have experienced most of it.

I have two friends at school. Belarus and Wales. I mean, there is also Germany, but he is in the year above me and likes to hang out with my brothers more. We do have art class together though. The class was too small so they combined two years into one art class.

Bela and Wales are my best friends. I wish we had more classes together but I only have home ec with the two of them and PE with Wales. School sucks. I can't wait to leave.

I woke up to the sound of an alarm going off. I sat up in bed and rubbed my eyes. I lay back down and shoved the blanket over my head. The alarm was annoying but I was too lazy to turn it off. Was able to stay in bed for ten more minutes before Dad knocked on the door and told me to get up.

I did begrudgingly. I could see my school uniform sitting messily on my desk chair. I grabbed my uniform and got changed. I gathered up my homework that was spread out on my desk and stuffed it into my bag. My bag was blue and red with a battleship painted on it thanks to Germany.

I ran downstairs with my bag. Mum was already making lunches for us in the kitchen and Canada was finishing his pancakes. Ame was probably still in bed. He never liked mornings. I put my bag down in the lounge and went into the kitchen for something to eat.

I grabbed some Weet-bix. There wasn't much left, so I finished it off.

"Aussie isn't going to like you finishing it," Canada laughed as he washed his plate.

"Apparently, it's 'Aus' now. He doesn't like being called 'Aussie'," I sighed as I ate a spoonful of my Weet-bix.

"Please do finish your mouthful before you speak," Mum said. I rolled my eyes and she gave me a glare back. I finished my breakfast and put my bowl in the sink. Mum would clean it up later anyway.

I went to the bathroom to do my Bussiness. After I flushed I washed my hands and brushed my teeth. I heard a knock at the door.

"I'll be out soon!" I shouted. Whoever was knocking, knocked louder. I finished brushing my teeth and unlocked the door. My brother Australia pushed me out of the bathroom and locked the door. This seemed to be a common thing he does now. He enjoys pushing me around.

America knocked on the bathroom door.

"Piss off!" Aus shouted from inside.

"I need to pee!" Ame shouted.

"We all know you are just going to stare in the mirror!" Aus replied.

I went to my bedroom to grab my phone. No new messages. As always. I sat down on my bed and looked out the window. The autumn leaves were falling from the trees. I was tired. I didn't want to go to school.

"KIWI! GET YOUR ASS DOWN HERE!" I heard Aus shout angrily from downstairs.

"Sh!t" I muttered. It wasn't long before I could hear Aus trying to break my door down.

"You ate all my Weet-bix you bloody sheep sh@gger!" He kept knocking on the door loudly. I felt scared. I hated it when he did this.

"It's not yours!" I yelled. This made Aus angrier. He banged on the door more violently. My heart began to race and I felt pale. Suddenly the door swung open.

"Leave me alone!" I shouted as I pushed past him and ran downstairs to leave. I grabbed my lunch off the bench and shoved it in my bag. I opened the door to leave.

"What has gotten you in such a rush," Dad said before I made it through the door.

"Nothing, I'm fine," I said as I shut the door behind me. My family is awful, I would rather live with my sister. I began walking to school. I usually leave the house earlier than my brothers so I can avoid talking to them.

America is the only one who drives to school. To be honest, he only drives to school so he can show off. Ame is definitely a piece of work.

Being alone with my thoughts distracted me because, before long, I found myself at the front gates of the school. I took a deep sigh and stepped on to the premises. I enter the building and find my locker.

Slowly unlocking the lock I noticed a small note addressed to me. I picked it up and unfolded the note. It wasn't a note, it was just a picture me that had been defaced and small writing below pointed to me and said: Discount Australia.

I really hated this school.
