The dining room had taken its toll. Everyone was seated after the introductions. Jacobs wife Sarah was happy to see Luke and Susan and she did not hide her joy
Sarah: I was so happy when your mother called saying you both were coming over, but you can imagine my displeasure when my lovely husband redirected you all to Greta's. No offense G
Greta: None taken love
Jacob: Honey, don't blame me. I just didn't want you to have trouble with the baby and all. Remember the doctor said that you shouldn't stress yourself
Sarah: Well, that's my decision to make, not yours
Greta: OK love birds, you've been at it for a while now, I think we should let it all rest. How are you holding up?
Sarah: It's hard but I'll get by
Boa: How soon
Sarah: Well this is my eighth month, so definitely soon
They all talked and laughed while they ate breakfast. It seemed like there was nothing to worry about, that was until Thomas rushed in
Thomas: Mister Jacob, there is something you need to see
The seriousness in his tone made Jacob jump from his seat and follow the man outside. At the gate, shadows could be seen with werewolves all in a long line, waiting patiently for some kind of order
Jacob: (whispering) Put on the magic defense system and get the boys armed and ready. I'll be back
With a nod, Thomas runs off into the distance to get everything done while Jacob goes back into the house
Boa: Is anything the matter?
Jacob wasn't ready to give out the news with his wife and kids in the room
Jacob: Adelaide!
Adelaide: Sir
Jacob: Can you escort my wife and kids to the library please. And also go with the other maids
Adelaide: Yes sir. Madame?
Sarah knew what was about to go down so she ushered the kids to go with the maid
Sarah: What about all of you?
Jacob: I'll stay with Boa and Samuel. Greta, Luke and Susan, you three go with her
Susan: No. I'm not going
Greta: Don't argue Susan. You have to come with us, it's not safe here
Susan: I'm not going!
Boa: Go with them, now Susan!
She stared at all of them and without changing her mind said a resounding "No"
Boa: What has gotten into you?
Luke: Boa, let her be. You know what she can do. There's no need to hide it. She'll be of help
Greta: What are you talking about?
Boa: Like I said yesterday, we'll talk about it later. For now you all stay in the library where you will be safe.
Luke: I'm staying with you guys. And Boa don't tell me to go with the kids
Jacob: Actually, the team's all set. Let's wait for Thomas to get back and we can check out the situation.
The maid led the women and the kids into the library with the other occupants of the house before locking it up.
The five of them walked out of the house and saw the men, all with their weapons pointed to the gate
Samuel: Can't believe they followed us here
Jacob: Wait, you all know something about this?
They all looked at Jacob with guilty looks
Boa: Jacob, I can exp...
Jacob: My wife is pregnant Boa. I have two little kids. Amber is five and Martha is just three. Tell me how you all managed to piss off an entire pack of wolves.
Samuel: We were getting to that.
Luke: Yeah Uncle Jacob. It really wasn't their fault. We were having dinner yesterday when the animals attacked.
Jacob: Trust me when I say this Luke. With Greta, Samuel and Boa nothing just happens. They must have done something. And you know what makes me mad the most, it's that you all still came over even when I explained my wife's condition.
Thomas: Sir, we're ready.
Jacob: Alright. Why are they all standing there?
Boa: The alpha isn't with them.
Luke: So they're just gonna stand there looking creepy. It's broad daylight you know. People can see them.
Samuel: I doubt that. They are being covered by that shadow.
Susan: You don't look fazed Uncle Jacob
Jacob: The land is a holy ground, so any evil creature cannot use its power here
Luke: Cool. So every mythical creature will be human if they cross the gate
Jacob: Actually. They will cease to exist.
They all look at him with horror in their eyes
Boa: I thought it would just dampen their powers
Jacob: I had to upgrade it. Didn't want the creatures coming back for more.
Thomas: Sir something is happening
The wolves begin to give way as the alpha walks to the front
Jacob: Here we go again. I'll talk to him
Boa: No, I will
Samuel: I'm clearly the one with more qualification
Luke: Why don't you all just go together
The men agreed and started out for the gate
Luke: OK, Can you hear what they are saying?
Susan: Nope, but I can do this thing that makes me invisible which I can use to get closer to them
Luke: Cool. Can you make me invisible also?
Susan: I don't know. I've never done it before
Crona: Yes you can, just concentrate.
She closes her eyes and begin to feel like she is one with the wind
Luke: That is so cool. Where are you?
She reaches out to him and tries to make him invisible failing on multiple trials
Susan: I can't
Crona: You can. Just concentrate. It's like sharing your power with him
She tries again and this time she gets it.
Luke: Oh my God. Are we invisible right now because I feel like there's so much power coursing through me. Is this how you feel everyday?
Susan: Shhhh! We're invisible but people can still hear us talk.
Crona: Oh boy. This one's an idiot
Luke: Who's that!!? Sue someone is here with us
Susan: You can hear him?
Crona: You can hear me?
Luke: Of course I can hear him, you, whatever. Yes I can. Who is that?
Susan: He is Crona, my guide and teacher
Luke: Is it the spirit that tells you what to do each time?
Crona: Yes boy. But can you refrain from calling me spirit, I'm an Omagian.
Susan: Alright, we've wasted enough time, let's go to the gate.
Without waiting for one more second she dashes to the gate just in time to hear the men start the conversation.
Jacob: You're on my property Wolf man. Don't mind if I call you that
Alpha: My name is Angus and I'm the prince of the mythical creatures.
Boa: What are you doing here Angus?
Angus: You already know the answer to that question
Jacob: Well I don't.
Angus: We have been ordered by the witch to kill the ones who released her from her millennial slumber and those who protect them. I will give you a merciful death with your family if you let us through.
Jacob: So you're saying that I should open my gate so that you can come in and kill me and everyone in here
Angus: Exactly so
The three men looked at each other and roared in laughter
Luke: Why are they laughing? This stuff is serious
Susan: I know right?
Jacob: You creatures must really be dumb, huh. Well Angus. I'm sorry but I won't do that. So I suggest you pack up your wolf buddies and head back to where you're coming from.
Angus: Make no mistake human. I will break this gate open and I will kill everyone without mercy
Jacob: With mercy, without mercy we're going to die anyway. I might as well just keep the gate locked.
Angus: I know you have a pregnant mate. I can smell her from here. I will rip her belly open with my claws and eat your unborn child while you watch
Voice: You will do no such thing
Everyone looks to where the voice had come from and sees the dark duo standing on a black cloud which is gradually descending
Susan: Oh my God! That's them Luke. That's the dark duo.
Luke: I'mma give it to them. They sure know how to make an entrance.
Angus: Demon, Wizard what are you doing here?
Dermot: Protecting lives from the mythical creatures that want to kill them.
Paul: We had a truce...
Angus: Which you both have broken on timeless ground. Most of the werewolves are now humans. The vampires and witches are nowhere to be found.
Dermot: The murders were getting out of hand, we had to step in.
Angus: Well, this doesn't concern any of you. I'll deal with you later. Leave while you still can
Paul: I'm so sorry, but we can't. We made an oath to stop the slaughter of innocent humans and we're gonna keep it no matter the cost.
Angus: Then you have joined the wrong side. For you will lose. Remove the veil, release them all.
As he said this, the shadows began to go backwards giving rise to witches, vampires, wolves and zombies.
Jacob: Jesus H Christ. What is this?
Boa: This is bad. This is really bad.
Luke: The library doesn't seem that bad.
Paul: There must be at least a thousand down there. How do we keep them from killing everyone here.
Dermot: I don't even know. But we have to try something. Let's talk to the owner of the house.
Dermot flies over to the entrance of the gate with Paul and everyone can see it in their eyes that this was a lost cause
Dermot: Who is in charge here?
Jacob: I am. You must be the wizard and that one must be the demon
Dermot: Yes we are. I can sense a lot of magical spells and sorcery on this ground
Jacob: Yes. It was meant to keep all mythical creatures away including you
Dermot: Just know that it won't save you. There must be at least a hundred witches out there and it won't take them long to find a loophole and break the barrier down
Boa: What do you want us to do?
Dermot: I don't usually do this, but you have to give them what they want to avoid this oncoming slaughter.
Paul: Are you being serious right now?
Dermot: I know what I'm doing
Jacob: They want my sister, her husband, my niece, my nephew and my friend. Should I still give them all up?
This was harder than he had thought. Paul was getting ready to fight and he had no choice but to stand his ground.
Dermot: I can't tell you to give up your loved ones because even I can't do the same.  Just Know this, if this gets rough get ready to run with your family. I and my partner here will provide enough cover for all of you to get out.
Jacob: We can't leave. We'll stay and fight.
Paul: I don't know how you're gonna fight thousands of demonic creatures as a human but good luck on that.
Dermot turned to face the horde of dark creatures. He was sure that this was not going to end well. If Angus was in the battle line as well, things were not going to be pretty. He was the prince of the mythical creatures for a reason. He wasn't weak and he showed no mercy when he slaughtered his victims. He was the only one that the dark duos did fear. He was not just an age old werewolf. He was a dangerous monster.
Angus: Enough time has been wasted. Are you both with me or with the dirt.
Paul: Well Angus. An oath is an oath. I know where I belong. What say you Wizard?
Dermot: I'll die before I let you hurt this family.
Angus: Very well.
He began to walk towards the gate with the creatures following him. Dermot started to chant in spells with Paul bringing out flames from his hands. They could die here. But it was time to show the dark aspect of their powers. And this time, they were not going to hold back.
