Bakugou opened his mouth to speak, but was interrupted before he even said a word.

"BAKUGOU!" a voice shouted.

The blonde's head snapped towards the source of the sound, his eyes quickly settling on Kirishima. And, next to the redhead were Todoroki, Yaoyorozu, and Iida, standing terrified but determined.

"GET AWAY FROM HIM!" Kirishima pressed.

Bakugou glanced from Midoriya to Kirishima. Midoriya's sad smile contrasted with Kirishima's fear and anger.

"You heard him, Kacchan," Midoriya whispered, tilting his head. "You shouldn't have anything to do with me."

Bakugou's heart sunk. "No... You can still come back." His breath hitched. "I promise... I'll make sure of it...!"

Midoriya stepped forwards, causing the students to poise for battle. The green-haired boy, however, paid them no mind. He smiled at Bakugou, tears threatening to fall from his eyes. "It's fine, Kacchan. It'll be alright."

"You were always a crybaby, huh, nerd?" Bakugou, said, tears threatening to spill from his own eyes.

Midoriya laughed, wiping the tears from his eyes. "I guess so."

"But you don't have to cry," Bakugou smiled, reaching out. "Just take my hand and we'll figure it out together."

Midoriya smiled sadly, looking down. After a moment of deafening silence, he raised his head, tears streaming from his face. "It's too late for me, Kacchan. But...," he paused, "It's not too late for you."

He wiped his arm across his face before stepping forwards, gaze set forwards.

Bakugou's eyes widened and he stepped backwards. "What are you..."

"BAKUGOU, GOD DANG IT! GET AWAY FROM MIDORIYA!" Kirishima shouted, running towards the blonde.

Suddenly, as Bakugou turned towards Kirishima, he felt a strong shove. He raised his head as he fell, seeing Izuku smile at him sadly. 'Bye, Kacchan,' he mouthed.

Bakugou's eyes widened, a whisper escaping his lips. "No... NO, DON'T!"

And the most horrible noises filled his eardrums.

The click of a trigger.

An explosion, deafening as a crack of thunder.

The whistle of a bullet hurtling through the air.

And a body crashing to the ground.
