Did you see the look in their eyes?
We passed cold bodies, no smiles
Did we not belong in this foreign side
Of a town still unwelcoming
To us the native people

There stood a church with it's steeple
Yet there was still no change
Even after the time of freedom

But then we looked to the river
The precious flow of silver
Whispered early on in the morning
That change was coming
The doves were no longer flying

When we woke up there was no Berg
So there was no river
A change we did not expect
A drought of unquenched thirst
That left the town bare

The cold stares were rare
But the tears where there
