She smiled at me weakly and cupped my face with her left hand.
"I am going to be fine."
A tear fell from my eye. Tumango ako at mapait na ngumiti. She hugged us one by one before entering the operating room. As hours pass by, I'm getting more anxious.
Kuya Calvin held my hand. Tinignan ko siya at pagod siyang ngumiti.
"Hey, magiging maayos ang lahat. Kayang labanan ni Mama ang cancer. Malakas siya eh."
Tipid akong ngumiti at isinandal ko ang aking ulo sa kanyang balikat. Tumabi sa akin si Ate Ciena at isinandal din ang kanyang ulo sa aking balikat and Colin hugged her. We chuckled looking at our position right now. We stayed like that until the doctor went out of the operating room.
"Doc, is our Mama okay?" Colin asked.
"Successful ba ang operasyon?" si Papa.
The doctor chuckled. "Sir, the operation went well. We're just waiting for her to wake up."
A needle was pricked out of my heart. Thank goodness Mama's okay.
"Thank God," bulong ni Kuya Calvin.
Pumunta na kami sa room ni Mama at nakitang tulog pa siya. Maya-maya ay dumating sila Irene. May dala silang isang basket na puno ng mga prutas.
"Hey," Elyse called and they hugged me tightly.
"Thanks for coming," ani ko at kumalas sa yakap. Kinuha ni Colin ang dala nilang basket. We looked at Mama. "We're still waiting for her to wake up pero ang sabi ng doctor successful naman ang operasyon."
"That's good to hear," ani Jewel.
Tumango ako at ngumiti. Nag usap kami tungkol sa kolehiyo kasi nagsisimula na palang mag-aral si Nica at Irene. Habang naguusap kami ay biglang bumukas ang pintuan at pumasok roon si Tita Anne kasama ni Marielle, Ria at Ang. Hindi na nakasama si Ysobel dahil pumunta na ito sa Cebu para magaral.
"Chie," tawag ni Tita Anne at niyakap ako.
"Matatag ang Mama mo. She'll wake up."
I smiled at her.
"How did the operation go?" tanong ni Ria.
"It went well. Thank you sa pag dalaw."
She tapped my shoulder and smiled softly.
"No worries. Alam mo naman na nandito lang kami para sayo."
Ngumiti ako. I'm so happy right now because I am surrounded with people who genuinely love and care for me.
