At the end of our relationship
I felt forgotten
Ignored
Neglected
Like getting back together
Was an impulse decision
Like I was a toy you wanted
Something you saw at the store
And got so excited to open
But set aside once you realized
You needed batteries to play with me
And the store was a long drive away from you
Too much effort
For me
So after a while
The thought of playing with me
Disappeared from your mind
Leaving me alone in a dark corner
Surrounded by your other old toys
My environment foreshadowing
The future of our relationship
The more I sit
Lifeless
Because you couldn't muster up the courage to throw me away for good
When you decided I wasn't worth the distance
