It's been two days since Jay's last nightmare, he hasn't slept a wink, and neither have I. The night it happened I stayed up with him the rest of the night watching Wonder Woman (he loves that movie). I thought watching it would cheer him up but it did nothing, he just stared blankly at the tv. He won't make eye contact with me, or just look at me, he's barely spoken a few words to me, he hasn't eaten or drank anything. He hasn't even gone to work or patroled, and he loves both his job and patroling! He just sits on the couch, blankly looking out the window

I went to work yesterday, thinking we needed the money and it was ok for me to leave, he'd be ok, but I was worried the whole day. I couldn't stop thinking about the possible what if's that could happen while I left him alone. Eventually, I went home early, only to find him on the couch, the same I left that morning. This morning I called in sick, told my boss I wouldn't be able to come into work for a couple days

I was making breakfast, waffles to be exact, for they're his favorite. Once one was ready I chopped up some bananas and strawberries, placing them on the waffle, then I sprinkled some blueberries and chocolate chips on it, topping it all of with some whipped cream. I poured him a glass of orange juice then took the plate of mouth-watering food to him, hoping it would snap him out of his daze. But no such luck. I set it right in front of him and he didn't even glance at it

"Jay please, you gotta snap out of this" I pleaded, trying to hold his hand, but he wouldn't open it up. So I just held his balled up fist. "what happened? Did I do something? Are you mad at me? Please talk to me" nothing. He didn't even look at me let alone say a word. I was ok the brink of crying, he's never shut me out like this before. I knelt in front of him, trying to meet his spunky, happy turquoise eyes, but they were filled with grief and saddness. "babe, what happened in that dream that's got you this shaken up?" Dead, both of you. Dead" he said, his voice cracking

I tried getting him to talk more, but that was it. He didn't speak another word. I can't do this alone, time to call in back up

"Hello?"

"Hey Tim"

"Y/n? Is everything ok?" He asked

"No, everything is no ok" I stated, holding back tears

"What's going on? Are you ok?" Worry riddled his voice

I explained what happened two nights ago and what happened since then and what just happened

"I'm on my way" he said

"Thanks Tim" I sniffled

Not even 30 minutes later there was a knock at the door, Jason didn't flinch. I ran over to to the door and ripped it open, to find Tim with helmet hair and in a red a black motorcycle jacket. (All the boys ride motorcycles now, even Dami). I flung myself on Tim, wrapping him up in a hug, "thank goodness you're here!" I said releaved, "of course I'm here, what else am I supposed to do? You're my sister and he's my brother" he half laughed, "now. Where's my bum of a brother?"

I led him inside and showed him Jay. "He hasn't moved since yesterday morning and he won't eat or drink" I explained, "I don't know what to do, he's never done this after a night mare" don't worry, he'll be fine. I'll try talking to him" Tim said, Jason not even noticing a new voice in the apartment. I didn't think it would do much but I didn't stop him. I bet you're wondering 'if you didn't think he could help, why call?' well, if I ever have a problem that I don't want to bother Jason with I go to Tim. He's the bestest friend I've had since I've moved here, he's helped me through so much.

Tim walked over to Jason, but he didn't even look Tim's direction. "Hey man" no response. Tim knelt down in front of Jason and tried again,"hey Jay, you ok?". Jason finally acknowledged Tim and looked him in the eyes. Sadness, brokenness, and  helplessness riddled his expression. "I was too late" Jason mumbled, "I couldn't save them" who, Jason?" Tim asked, surprised he got anything out of him. Y/n sat in a chair just a few feet away, holding back tears as she listened in. "The baby, my baby girls-Joker-guns" he kept rambling this things, tears streaming down his face as he tried to hide himself with his hands and knees

"Jason, it wasn't real. It was just a horrible, horrible nightmare" Tim reassured, "look, y/n's right over there" Tim gestured over to the almost crying y/n, and for once, Jason looked y/n in the eyes. "Babe?" He asked, sounding astonished to see her, his eyes blown wide. Y/n got up, Tim moving to the side so she could get to her beloved. "Yeah, it's me, Jay. It's me" she smiled, cupping his cheeks. Jason looked her I over, rubbing her forehead, as if checking for a wound but finding nothing. "I'm sorry I couldn't save you" he mumbled, "Jay. I'm right here. You've saved me countless times, let me save you for once" y/n said through tears, wiping Jason's tears off his face

"We promised we wouldn't lose each other, YOU promised me we wouldn't lose each other" she stated, "Please, remember. You have to" y/n pleaded, tears running down her face, on the verge of just full on losing it. It was too much for her to see him like this. It just tore her apart. Feeling helpless and useless

"Promise"
