POV Lydia
"What do you wanna do on your graduation night darling?" Mom asks at the dinner table and I chew the food I have in my mouth before talking.

"Nothing too fancy guys. Around 9 I have to be at Sierra's though, we're having a last night with the gang thing" it's a party. "But before that I'm all yours"

"Sounds fun, Cory and I were thinking that we could eat at Monet's with maybe my parents, sister and some of your cousins" mom says and I immediately react at the words 'my parents'.

"Your parents aren't coming?" I ask dad and he shakes his head lightly while looking down at his plate.

"I'm sorry honey" he says and smiles apologetic at me, like it's something to be sorry about. I've gotten used to their behavior by now, I've been living with it for 14 years. I just though that my graduation would be different.

"Wasn't expecting anything else" I say and force a smile.

"Have you decided on a dress to wear yet?" Mom asks, clearly just to change the subject. I chew the last peas on my plate and get up to show it to her.

"I'll go try it in for you guys"

"Lydia don't leave the table while we're eating" I hear mom shout after me but I ignore her and run up the stairs instead. I try my outfit on and I'm completely in love. It just fits me and my personality so well. I proudly walk down the stairs in it and spin around in front of the table, and mom frowns. What?

"You can't wear that. That's far too revealing, go change now" Mom demands and I gasp in surprise.

"What are you taking about? Who are you to decide what I can and can't wear?!" I yell back and dad takes the hint and leaves the table without saying another word.

"I let you date Grayson for heavens sake, the least you can do is take that ridiculous outfit off" oh no, now she has crossed the fucking line by a mile.

"Why would you bring that up? Things was just getting good between us!"

"Take the outfit off. It's not suiting for a girl your age. You owe me one after what I did with you and Grayson" now the line is crossed by a fucking marathon.

"You're pathetic mom. I can't believe you'd bring this up. Bye" I say and rush out of the house. I slam the door after me and rush out to my car in pure anger. I really don't get why mom would bring this up, I thought she was over this by now but I guess she's definitely not.

I drive towards gray's place and let's just say that I'm glad that the cops aren't around. I really need to get away to calm down and I usually do that in Grayson's arms. I really need him in times like these. I tear up a little bit at the thought of him and the impact he has on me as I park my car outside his house.

"Oh hi Ethan" I say as Ethan opens the door for me, and I gotta admit I'm a bit surprised seeing him at the door and not Grayson.

"Why are you all dressed up?" He chuckles and twirl around a little for him.

"Oh, just my graduation outfit. No biggie" I laugh and he does too "is Grayson not home?"

"He's at that thing at Columbia tonight. Didn't he tell you?"

"Oh shit, yes he did. I'm sorry to bother you Eth, it completely slipped my mind that he's not home" I apologize to him, how embarrassing that I don't even remember my own boyfriend being at his future college.

"Don't even worry about it. You wanna come in? You look like you need someone" he says and I smile lightly at him. As I walk past him to the living room.
