POV Lydia
"Come on, just climb down!" Grayson hisses from beneath my window and I'm standing more or less in the window, contemplating if I should climb down or not. Mom is still really mad at me, so I'll have to sneak out to go to Kendall's party.
"Do you promise to catch me if I fall?" I whisper-yell to him and he exhales sharply.
"Yes. Now come on!" He answers and I sigh, still not really daring to take the step out.
"What is taking so long?" Ethan says impatiently when he suddenly comes out of the car where he had been waiting for us.
"Lyd's being a pussy and won't climb down" Grayson says just as impatient and I flip him off.
"Fuck you" I hiss and Grayson laughs, flipping me off as well.
"I think you forgot an I in the beginning of that sentence Lyd" Ethan says with a huge grin as he's standing beside Grayson, and the look Grayson gives him is the scariest look I've ever seen. I suppose my look isn't that nice either, but it's not near as terrifying as Grayson's.
"I never should have told you man" Grayson sighs and Ethan just laughs and pats him on the back. Then the two of them starts to argue like they always do, about some unnecessary shit. I realize that if I'm gonna climb down, now is the time to do it. I realize pretty quickly that going down isn't as hard as going up, and I'm by the ground rather quickly.
"While you two 5 years olds were arguing I climbed down, so let's go. It's only a matter of time before my parents wakes up" I say and start walking towards the car, with the guys right behind me.
"She for sure took the stairs while we weren't looking" Ethan mumbles to gray and gray mumbles something inaudible back. I just shake my head and ignore them, shit I should've taken a video of it.
POV Grayson
The party has already started when we arrive, the music in blasting and there's red solo cups everywhere. Someone immediately gives me a beer bottle, and I take a gulp. Before I know it the bottle is empty and I've lost both Ethan and Lydia, I have no idea where they are. I do find Kendall though, and he gives me more alcohol. I soon realize that one of the cups he gave me was vodka. Nothing else, just pure vodka. And damn that shit burns my throat, but I like it.
I walk out on the dance floor, hoping to bump into someone fun. I'm a little bit tipsy I'm not gonna lie, I'm not walking entirely straight but it's okay. This is a party.
"Look who it is! Dolan my man, what's up?" Someone says behind me, and I recognize that voice easily. Kevin. I hesitantly stop and turn around, I don't want anything to do with him. He ruined my life once, I'm not gonna let him do it twice.
"Why won't you talk Dolan? Have you lost your voice? You used to love to talk" Kevin teases with a grin that is so evil that I've never seen anything like it.
"What are you doing here Kevin?"
"I just heard that there was a high school party around so I thought I'd stop by and say hello. Isn't that appreciated?" He says and grins again.
"Much appreciated" I say sarcastically but I'm not sure how it comes out since I'm drunk. I feel my head spinning and I'm losing my brain more and more every second.
"Glad to hear" actually, maybe I've gotten this whole thing wrong, maybe Kevin is a cool dude? Maybe I've just forgotten about what really happened? "what do you say Dolan, let's get out of here. We need you back in the gang again, the guys miss you. Come on, for old times sake"
"I shouldn't..." I start but trail off pretty quickly since my mouth doesn't follow my brain at this point.
"Since when do you care about what you shouldn't do? Do what you wanna man!" He says and punches my shoulder. The hit gives me flashbacks to the old times, and they were good times.
"Okay I'll go" I say and Kevin pats my shoulder, as if I was a dog "maybe I should go tell ethan that I'm-"
"Who cares about your lame ass twin, let's just go" he says and takes a firm grip of my arm, more or less dragging me out of the house. The grip around my arm feels good, because I don't think I'd be able to walk properly without it.
POV Lydia
"Hey Eth, not to freak you out or anything but I can't find Grayson anywhere. I've been looking for him for the past hour or so" I yell to Ethan over the music and his eyes widens. The party is slowly dying down, it's near 2am and people got bored.
"No, I haven't. He's probably just walking around so you must've walked around him I guess" he says with a shrug, probably thinking that Grayson is an adult who's able to take care of himself.
"Hey, I'm so sorry to eavesdrop but I saw Grayson leave with some dude like 2 hours ago" a girl named Casey suddenly says and Ethan turns all his attention to her. I've never really spoken to Casey before, but she seems nice.
"Do you know who the dude was?" Ethan asks and I can easily tell that he's worried now if he wasn't before.
"I've never seen him before, his arms were like full of tattoos and he had a shaved head" she says and Ethan's eyes grow to the size of tennis balls. What is going on?
"Was he very muscular and like freakishly tall?" Ethan asks and shows with his hand how tall he means, and he really meant freakishly tall. Instead of saying anything Casey just nods and Ethan runs his hands through his hair.
"Fuck" he mumbles under his breath and then starts running jogging towards the door. I shoot Casey a 'thank you' smile before running after him, obviously very worried something is seriously wrong.
"Hey, what's happening? Who's that guy?" I ask him as I catch up with him by the front porch.
"Look, Grayson used to have these... not-so-nice friends. I just need to get to him right now before it's too late" he says, very stressed, and now it's my time to widen my eyes.
"What? What friends?" I've never heard of this before, and I don't know how bad ethan means they were either.
"I think you should hear this story from Grayson"
"Well I don't care, I'm coming with" I say determined and cross my arms over my chest, the worst people he could mean is like... people who smokes cigarettes. Right?
"You can't. These are dangerous people Lydia, I need to go by myself" Okay, maybe not cigarettes...
Before I even get the chance to reply, he runs off to his car and I decide to drop it. Ethan won't cave and let me go with anyway.
"You can't drive Ethan, you've been drinking! Are you crazy?" I yell at him from the porch but I know that he doesn't care on bit, but I need to try. All he cares about is Grayson.
"It's my brother we're talking about, I couldn't care less if I've been drinking" he yells back and hops in the car. Not caring about me standing all alone on the porch. The last thing I saw of him was the determination in his eyes.
It's first when Ethan has left me that I have time to really think about what just happened. And I soon realize that Grayson never talks about his past, and now I have a clue to why. It seems rather messy.
