After I got Virgil calmed down and he explained, and I told him my name, he did something surprising. He launched closer to me and hugged me, dangerously close to being too close. Not that I minded, I just didn't want him to be embarrassed. Call it common courtesy, if you will. I didn't back up, and instead hugged him back. Eventually he scooted a little bit away, but still next to me. His eyeliner was smudged from crying, and burying into my shirt. I subconsciously reached and wiped it off his cheeks, making him a bit more presentable. He giggled and I smiled. He leaned back against me, before closing his eyes, humming. I watched as he drifted off to sleep, and gently kissed his forehead, which earned me a small, fanged, smile. After a bit, I too, drifted off to sleep.
