"At least let me cloak us before we walk in."

"No."

Maddie grumbled as she followed behind the two boys, the three of them walking to the door that entered Malia Tate's room. Stiles grabbed the knob, pushing it open only to hear it creaking.

The Stilinski boy just continued opening the door and Maddie closed her eyes with a defeated look, placing a hand on her face as Scott placed his head in his hands. Stiles then rushed inside, causing the two supernatural creatures to follow, Maddie closing the door swiftly behind her, making no sounds of creaking in the process.

Raising her eyebrow at Stiles, he just sent her a look causing her to smirk before Scott started burying his nose into teddy bears and pillows. Maddie made her way over to the bed, grabbing the small brush that still had some hair in it. Grabbing the brush, she put it in her bag before turning to the boys.

"All I'm getting is some animal smell." Scott stated and Stiles grabbed another toy. "What kind of animal?" Stiles questioned and Maddie looked to the door way only to freeze.

"Dog." Maddie replied as she back towards the boys. The three of them stared at the animal in fear of it notifying its owner about them...or that was Maddie's fear anyway. "Hi puppy." Stiles said to the dog before turning to Scott. "Get rid of it."

"Me?" Scott questioned and Stiles looked at him before looking at Maddie. "Or you." He said and Maddie rose an eyebrow. "Glow your eyes at it, something, be the Alpha." Stiles stated.

"I can't. I don't have control." Scott pointed out and Stiles sighed. "Well, we're gonna have to try something." Stiles stated only for Scott to walk closer to the dog, his hand out. "nice doggy.." Scott tried and Stiles looked at his friend with an exasperated look, looking at Maddie for help only to see her laughing silently at the scene in front of them.

Of course, it was all fun in games until the dog started barking.
"Oh, for fucks sake." Maddie groaned. "Apollo! Apollo, shut up!" They heard Mr Tate yell and Maddie huffed, walking forward and flicking her wrist. "Ad somnum." Maddie chanted, watching the dog fall to the floor in a deep sleep.

She then turned to the two boy, who looked at her like she killed the damn thing. "Oh, relax. I'll wake the bitch when we leave." Maddie huffed and Stiles just shook his head with a shrug as they continued their search.

Stiles handed Scott a book before his eyes scanned the shelves. "Anything?" The Stilinski boy questioned but Scott just shook his head. "All I'm getting is that dog." Scott said sadly and Maddie frowned, looking away only for her eyes to land on a picture of Malia and her little sister. Taking out her phone, she snapped a picture of it, before the trio decided to leave.

"Saoujarae" Maddie spelled after she closed the door, watching as the dog woke up and trotted off.

The group then met up outside the reserve, the three teenagers getting out of the car to see Sheriff Stilinski waiting for them.

"I'm sorry, I tried as hard as I could, I mean if it wasn't so long ago I might've been able to do it." Scott stated and the Sheriff sighed. "It's okay, it was a long shot. In fact, it was a pretty terrible idea. I think I just ripped a wound open in that poor man." Sheriff sighed with the shake of his head.

"I shouldn't have brought you guys here. I don't know what I was thinking." Sheriff stated and Maddie frowned. "Thanks for trying, alright." Sheriff said and the group nodded before watching him get in his car.

"See you at home." Sheriff said to Stiles who waved before wrapping an arm around Maddie. "Aren't there a lot of cases that go unsolved?" Scott questioned and Maddie sighed, leaning into Stiles.
