Detective Inspector Jett Howards never expected to come back to New York. Especially after spending so long running from what had happened there. After nearly twelve years spent under the service of the queen and country, and five years living in country, it is quite the leap to make, and his opinion on the whole thing isn't set in stone.
Most of his life was spent in the United Kingdom, specifically in Wales and England, and after so long there he never expected needing to move again. But when a man who saved your life so long ago asks for you to come back, you say yes.
So, after seventeen years (more than half of his life) living in London, he packs up everything he owns and moves his entire life back to New York City. His first order of business is getting his dog re-certified as a police dog, and than he deals with the Commissioner. On first approach he is worried, but quickly learns there is no need to be.
Everything to follow was expected; murder cases that go cold, attempted kidnappings, foiling murder attempts on the Commissioner, and even stopping a terrorist attack.
The one thing that he never expected, was to fall in love with a Rookie, and not just any Rookie, the Police Commissioners son.
