"Perhaps he's on holiday? Or taking a long autumn nap upstairs. Go on, you know this house as well as I." Klaus mused before Maddie's phone buzzed.
"I've got something to do. I'll be back later." Maddie said before grabbing her coat and walking out the door.

Maddie had always believed of herself as a sinner. She had inflicted pain, killed innocent people. She had laughed in the face of god for he had given her nothing but torment. Vampires were the devil's doing, they were the children of Hell and she was one of them. And yet she mocked God, walking on his holy grounds as her five inch heels clicked against the wooden floors of St Anne's Church.
She was only passing through, but even still, she couldn't help the grin on her face as she reached the basement, a duffel bag in hand. Knocking on the door, her grin widened. "Knock knock." Maddie said before the door swung open and Maddie was immediately jumped on causing the Petrova Hybrid to laugh and hug the girl back.
Davina Claire released the girl with a wide smile and Maddie held up the duffel bag. "I came bearing gifts." The Petrova Hybrid stated and Davina laughed. "Come in." Davina invited and Maddie walked in, passing the bag to the witch before watching as the younger girl took it over to the bed immediately.
Maddie folded her arms over her chest with a smile as she watched the young witch pull out a plastic bag full of new clothes as well as another bag full of money. "What's this for? I can't use this." Davina stated as she turned to Maddie with a look of confusion and the older girl grinned.
"When the power is gone and you are free, I'm going to take you shopping and you're going to get anything you want. And I'm going to move you to Beacon Hills and I'm going to enroll you in school and I'm going to let you date guys and go to parties-" Maddie listed only to be pulled into another hug.
"Thank you." Davina whispered and Maddie hugged the girl back. "You're only sixteen. You deserve a normal life." Maddie said as she patted down Davina's hair. Ever since the harvest, the teenage witch had always felt like she was alone.
She had Marcel but that was it. And then Maddie came back with canvases, paints, sketchbooks, jigsaw puzzles and snacks. The hours that Maddie wasn't working at Ruesseus, she was with Davina. The Harvest witch felt like she had a future, a safe place to land.
"D, I also need your help." Maddie sighed and the girl looked at her a sighed. "I haven't seen you in days, I figured something was up. Marcel told me Klaus was in town." Davina stated and Maddie laughed.
"I wouldn't worry about Klaus. He may look like the big bad wolf but he's just a puppy." Maddie stated and Davina frowned. "He's killed people, Maddie." The witch stated and Maddie smiled sadly at the girl. "So have I, D. So has Marcel. People who have power like us, we're always a target. And people like Klaus, like me, we feel anger and hatred like nobody else. It's like the power we hold inside of us is a never ending channel of rage. I just have better control than Klaus does, but I'm capable of everything Klaus has done, and more." Maddie stated and Davina sighed, hugging the Petrova Hybrid again.
Davina stared at where she had put the cloaking spell on Elijah's coffin and frowned a little. She would do anything for Madeline unless it meant putting Marcel in danger. And Elijah, to her, was a danger.
"I don't care what you've done or what you'll do. Because you are one of the best people I know. And you're going to be an amazing mom." Davina just said and Maddie smiled. "I hope so." The Petrova Hybrid nodded and Davina let go, walking over to the shelves and pulling out a Shakespeare Book, also known as Maddie's grimour in disguise.
"Thank you, Davina. I owe you one." Maddie smiled and Davina grinned. "You could stay for a game of Ludo?" The teenage witch stated and Maddie smirked.
"You set up and I'll shoot down to the store for some snacks."

The next morning, Maddie walked down the stairs, flicking through her grimour. Rebekah, who was sitting on the hundred-year-old sofa, narrowed her eyes at the book and made a face. "I don't understand how Shakespeare is going to help us find Elijah." Rebekah stated and Maddie rolled her eyes.
"He's not going to help you find Elijah, but I know someone who might. Sophie Deveraux, She works at the witch shop down town, Jardin Gris or something." Maddie informed and the blonde smiled. "I love when you give me useful information." Rebekah stated, getting up, grabbing a coat before walking to the door as Maddie scoffed.
"Please, I never give you information unless it's useful!" Maddie exclaimed as the blonde walked out the door. Maddie scoffed, falling backwards onto the sofa and rolled her eyes before her phone buzzed.

SCOTT: hey, when are you gonna be back?
MADDIE: half an hour? I just gotta ring Klaus.

Maddie sighed and got up again, slipping on a leather jacket as Hayley walked in. "Going somewhere?" The werewolf questioned and Maddie nodded.
"Back to Beacon Hills. Juice is in the fridge but the ice-cream is in the mini freezer upstairs in the spare room that we turned into a second kitchen. Klaus, Rebekah and I have left our numbers on the bench and if a stranger knocks on the door, the box in the corner behind the door has a fuck ton of stakes and knives. See ya later." Maddie said before walking out the door, leaving the pregnant werewolf standing there with wide eyes before nodding.
"Right, okay. Upstairs to the second kitchen I go." Hayley mumbled, walking back up the stairs.
Maddie went outside and made a face before going to one of the jewellery stores, picking out something for Allison and Lydia and then something for Caroline that she'd ship off later. She then pulled out her phone.
"Hey Nik, I'm going back to Beacon for a few hours to sort some stuff out, but I'll be back either tonight or tomorrow. Call me back later." Maddie said before looking around the empty street and smirking.
"La Vae"
