"So, are you talking Bardo in Tibetan Buddhism or Indian?" Maddie questioned, a hint of sass but also a seriousness in her voice. "Either, I guess-" Kira started as she sat down next to Maddie who raised her eyebrows at the girl.

"But all the stuff you guys were just saying is in Bardo. There are different progressive states where you can have hallucinations, some you see, some you just hear. And you can be visited by peaceful and wrathful deities." Kira explained.

"Wrathful deities? And what are those?" Isaac questioned curiously causing Maddie to look at him. "Demons." The Petrova Hybrid stated bluntly. "Demons! Why not?" Stiles breathed, looking away.

"Hold on, if there are different progressive states, then what's the last one?" Allison questioned. "Death. You die." Kira shrugged causing a small growl to escape Maddie's mouth.

The growl didn't go unnoticed by anyone except Kira, as the group shared a look before watching the table start shaking. Stiles threw his arm around the girl, pulling her into his chest as she crossed her arms. "Okay, we better go." Stiles stated, throwing his bag over her shoulder before grabbing pulling Maddie from her seat and away from the table.

"What was that?" Stiles questioned as Maddie glared at the back of Kira's head. "The way she looks at Scott, I don't want Care to get hurt. I trust Scott, and I know he's better than Damon and Aiden but I know how it feels to have someone you love choose someone else and I don't want that for her. She's my best friend, Stiles." Maddie explained before she sighed.

"And also, maybe the thought of you, Scott and Allison dying was enough to push me over the edge." She slowly then added causing Stiles to sigh as he pulled her into a hug. "This will all blow over and then we'll probably never see Kira again. And I'm not going to leave you, okay? Neither is Scott or Allison." Stiles promised but Maddie smiled sadly as she shook her head.

"You can't promise me people won't die, Stiles. Because it's a promise you can't keep." Maddie stated before walking back to the table, leaving the boy to think about what she just said.

"It sounds like your subconscious is trying to communicate with you." Deaton explained to the three teens, but more specifically Stiles. "Well, how do I tell my subconscious to use a language that I already know?" Stiles questioned before Maddie's phone went off.

"It's Rebekah, I should answer." Maddie sighed, the three giving her an approving nod before she walked outside.

"Hey, give me half an hour." Maddie pleaded with a sigh, causing her friend to frown. "I just took a plane, flew to California from Paris, drove into Beacon Hills and I'm outside your house now. Where are you?" Rebekah questioned and Maddie sighed.

"Five minutes then? Look, I'm on my way, just let me tell Scott." Maddie stated, causing Rebekah to give a confused look from where she sat in her car, on the other side of the phone.

"Fine, five minutes. Also, who the bloody hell is Scott?" Rebekah questioned and Maddie rolled her eyes. "I'll explain later. See you in five." Maddie stated before hanging up. Just as she hit the red button, the door opened from behind her, causing her to spin and face who had come out to find her.

"Hey, uh, you coming in or....?" Stiles trailed off causing her to sigh. "Actually, I have to go back to New Orleans. I have some things there that could help me figure this all out. I'll be back either tomorrow or the day after." Maddie explained, and Stiles nodded. He looked down, almost disappointed that she was leaving and it made her feel guilty.

She placed her hands on both sides of his face and lifted it up to hers as she gave him a smile. "I'll be back soon." She whispered, giving him a kiss on the cheek. Stiles closed his eyes, but when he felt her lips leave his cheek, his eyes snapped open only to see she was gone.

Rebekah stood with crossed arms, leaning against the red car, a glare set in Maddie's direction making the brunette roll her eyes. "We've got to go now or we'll miss our flight." Rebekah scolded causing Maddie to scoff as she got in the car.

"Who said anything about flights? Get in, reverse out of the drive way and then drive straight." Maddie ordered and blonde shrugged before getting in the car and doing exactly what Maddie asked, reversing out of the drive before
driving straight.

"La Vae."
