Until it lasts

Warm as the sun, chocolates and buns,
Such was our relationship before you said done.
It lasted for a short period of time,
But I hope in our wildest dreams, "us" never died.

You appeared to me in dreams, once upon a time,
Now you appear in my nightmares, calling another "mine".
Did you think of me as unworthy of you?
Because I never thought of anyone but you.

You took my heart, crushed it into pieces
But still it beats and only you, it misses.
It calls out to you like a melody, soft and sweet
But you attack it like a beast, strangling it with a leash.

Do you know how it feels?
To be like this my love?
No you do not
Because you never loved me at all.

I always said, "until it lasts."
Now I think " all is in the past. "
