A snarl broke from Gareth's lips as the images flooded to him.   Deliberate, intentional, and now he watched as the door closed behind Sariah, admitting her into the darkness of Slade's room.   Savage hate and fury unleashed within him.   Burning in his hatred he left the secure room in which he'd been resting, fangs bared, face screwed up in an ugly rage.

Brianna, he thought with a hiss.  She had used the open portal between them and taken advantage of him.  How he'd not seen this coming was not the issue.   What she had put in motion was, however.   His anger knew no bounds as he lashed out, smashing a wall to bits with a fist.    He would have to deal with his mate's interference, and soon, but first the situation in the house next door needed to be addressed, before it went any further.

Kicking a table out of his way, smashing it to splinters, he flung open a side window. He stepped into the black night and sought out the bedroom window above, only a few hundred feet from the sanctuary he'd created for himself.   Gareth knew he had to control the anger, the flaming anger clouding his senses, creating rash responses, but he was too far gone.   He had to stop that woman, that infernal woman, before it was too late.

His ability to see into minds never was more unwelcome as at that moment.  He saw her step into the lumbering behemoth's arms, be wrapped in them.   Saw him whispering in her ear and running his strong hands down her back.    Violent in his anger he strode to the house next door, eyeing the glass French doors.     In his mind's eye he focused his rage, his fury and sent Brianna a murderous vision, to which he heard her musical laughter as a response.

There was no way Gareth would allow a loss of control he thought,  his form changing into a mist, swirling in the keyhole of the door lock.   Once inside he materialized like a wraith, stepping up the stairs with evil purpose.   He'd meant to wait, meant to toy with Sariah, but apparently this was no longer possible.  He had to act and act right now.   Firmly he shuttered his mind to Brianna, reluctant to lose the connection even though it gave him enjoyment.

He stopped at the bedroom door, increased the power of his telepathy and shuttered Sariah's connection with Brianna.   He smiled as he felt the rage from his mate.  Checkmate, he mused, smoothing a hand over his dark locks, regaining control of himself.   With no preamble he blasted the bedroom door to bits, exploding inside the room and smashing with violent force into the pair.    He heard Sariah's cry of fear as the two were torn apart, smiled as he sent the man flying into the wall so forcefully the drywall cracked behind him.    Slade's head burst with pain as he struck the wall, plunged into unseeing darkness.

Sariah screamed as she stumbled over the ruins of the door, eyes on the vampire rapidly approaching.   Feebly she sent a message to Brianna, hoping against hope it would get through.  He moved toward her and she saw the tremble of rage in him.  Fumbling for her blade she dimly realized it was in her bedroom, with her regular clothing.   Gareth smiled, a smile terrible to see as he pushed her into the corner, eyes burning hers.   "No no little one.  There is no denying me now. " He said, reaching for her with intention. "You either come with me, or he dies, and in a very slow and painful way."

Sariah shook with fear, but knew there was no way she could allow Slade to be killed because of her actions.   She'd caused the death of her own family, she couldn't live with his life as well.   No matter what the fiend wanted she'd have to find a way to evade his wishes, even if that meant sacrificing her own life after she'd saved Slade.    The bite of Gareth's cold fingers wound around her arms, forcing her against his strong body.   The smell of him, the musky aroma came to her full force, and her memories assaulted her as she shoved against him uselessly.   Gareth shook at the feel of her against him and he smiled again.   Holding her tight to him with one hand he simply stepped to the window and blasted out into the night air,  heading towards the place he had prepared so long ago.

Flying past the house he'd hidden in they continued on, heading for a spot he knew she'd never be found.   He breathed in the scent of lavender, and felt a rush at the scent of her, the throbbing pulse and racing heartbeat.    He nuzzled her neck languidly as they went and smiled as she shuddered.    Soon enough, he thought as they whipped through the stillness of the tropical night......
