The girl flinched, her sister had told her not to talk to strangers, but Chae knew the police could help her. Two police officers then got out of the car and crouched in front of her, watching her with concern and care.

"What are you doing here alone at this hour?" One of the policemen asked, a middle-aged woman with a motherly expression.

"I'm expecting dad and Soora noona." She told in a thin voice, trembling from the cold and from the crying. "Dad went to the bathroom, but it was taking so long to come back, so Soora noona went to see if he was still there.

"Who is Soora?"

"My sister." The little girl replied, sniffling and feeling like crying again because Soora didn't come back.

"How old are you and your sister?"

"Noona is... twelve and I... I'm going to be eleven." She replied between sobs, not being able to hold back her tears anymore and bursting into tears.

"How long ago did they go to the bathroom?" The girl shrugged her shoulders without an answer. "It was a long time?" The policewoman asked, and the little girl nodded vehemently. "Agent, go to the restrooms and make sure they're both there," she instructed to the other and the man nodded.

Minutes later the man returned with a grim expression. He approached the woman and whispered something, which even quietly the little girl managed to hear.

"The restrooms were empty, but there were a few drops of blood on the men's room floor. They looked fresh. The woman shifted her gaze to the little girl and frowned.

"Can you tell me where you live?" She asked, and the little girl nodded, saying the name of the street where she lived.

She wasn't sure of the house number, but as soon as they reached the street she would indicate it. The policemen exchanged a few more words and the woman held out her hand to the little girl.

"Come on, let's go home and see if your father and sister are there." He indicated and the little girl, albeit hesitant, followed the woman to the car.

The other policeman stayed behind and spoke on the walkie-talkie, while the woman held a reassuring smile for the little girl and drove along the roads to the street where the Parks lived. Once they arrived at the girl's house, they walked to the door and knocked on it. After a few knocks the door was opened by a man with a sleepy frown, who then widened his eyes when he saw Chae holding the policewoman's hand!

"OH MY GOD! Chaeyun!" The man pulled his daughter into a tight hug, realizing what a huge mistake she had made.

The officer asked the man a number of questions, quickly realizing that he had gotten drunk and forgotten he was out with his daughters. He had come home alone and fallen asleep on the sofa. When he realized that Soora was not accompanying Chaeyun, Mr. Park searched the entire house for the whereabouts of the eldest daughter, without any success. There was no sign of Soora.

The house was quickly filled with police and a determined search took place in the region that morning and for the following days. For three days and four nights, Soora was missing. On the fourth day, she finally appeared and nothing in her life would ever be the same after those days she was missing.
