Once I get into Michael's house, I see him with his mouth open.

"Are you not gonna hug me..?"

"I've never seen this..."

He walks near me and touches my shoulders.

"God..."

"What..?"

"You're beautiful."

You'll never know how his voice deepened when he said 'beautiful', which made me fluttered.

"Now, shall we sit down somewhere..?"

"Oh, yeah!"

He holds my arm and we go to the guest room.

"I have a confession."

"Yeah?"

"I have no idea where is Burma."

He does his little guilty eye-roll. I chuckle.

"Southeast Asia."

"And you came all the way from Asia?"

"Yeah..."

"Why?"

"The ummm....."

He looks really curious.

"The government and all those situations. Too long, Michael. Just know that it's not peaceful. That's why my parents raised me here and here we are still living in L.A."

"War?"

"Not a war but a lot of conflicts and protests."

"God... I feel bad..!"

"Me either..."

"Anyway, so this is how women dress in Burma?"

"Imm hmm. We normally put our hair into a hair-bun."

"Is there a name for this traditional outfit?"

"Burmese name?"

"Yeah."

"The top is just a blouse but the bottom is called longyi."

"Lon...gyi?"

"Right."

I had to chuckle because Michael trying to speak my mother-tongue language is just so cute.

"I'll show you how men wear..."

I take out my camera and search for the family photo at the orphanage.

"Here."

Michael is really amazed like a child, staring at how my father wore.

"Woah... You look a lot like your father."

"Really..?"

My voice sounds so down.

"Yeah..!"

I skip to the next photo which is me, watching at kids and smiling.

"This is so pure..."

Michael holds my camera and smiles.

"Do you see that? That's how kids can make me feel."

"True... Just watching them, having fun, is awesome..."

"Baby..?"

He looks at my face.

"Are you...okay?"

"Why..?"

"You sound so tired and you even look weaker than normal."

Well, true...because of my parents.
