It Hurts (Klavier x Victim! Reader)

No One's Pov:

The entire courtroom was tense as Klavier Gavin approached the prosecutor's bench. They all remembered what had happened just as well as he did. This was a murder trial.

A trial in which he knew the victim.

She was his light. His love.

But she was gone. Murdered.

He remembers it as if it had happened yesterday. He sat in his office, tuning his newest guitar and doing paperwork. His fiancee, (Y/n), had been texting him about the wedding planning and big news she wanted to share with him. He ignored the messages. It was only two hours later that he received a new case. He read through the case summary. It was pretty simple. A man broke into a woman's home to rob her, but ended up murdering her instead. He flipped to the victim summary and nearly dropped the report in pure shock.

The victim name read: (Y/n) (L/n). It gave a summary of details on her. It also detailed how she was killed. The killer stabbed her in the abdomen and chest. At first, he thought the detectives were pulling a cruel prank, and he yelled at them, but they confirmed the case was real. Then, he received the autopsy report. What he read in that report would haunt him forever.

She was pregnant when she died.

That's why he now stood behind the prosecutor's bench, composing himself as much as he could.

How can I say this without breaking? How can I say this without taking over? How can I put it down into words when it's almost too much for my soul alone?

He struggled with his opening statement, but managed to coldly glare at the defendant and defense attorney. How could this defense attorney think the defendant was innocent?

I loved and I loved and I lost you...I loved and I loved and I lost you...I loved and I loved and I lost you. And it hurts like hell. Yeah it hurts like hell...

Each new testimony made his heart ache. He didn't want to hear about the blood on your clothes or the pain-stricken expression on your face.

But he had too.

The judge had asked him to testify to the court about their relationship, but he refused. He said it wasn't necessary. He just didn't want to relive the memories.

I don't want them to know the secrets! I don't want them to know the way I loved you! I don't think they'd understand it, no. I don't think they would accept me, no...

The trial slowly continued on and his thoughts got more disruptive with each passing minute. They spited him. Telling him he could've saved her. Telling him that it was his fault. That it was his fault she was dead.

That he could've saved her.

Dreams fight with machines inside my head like adversaries! Come wrestle me free! Clean from the war! Your heart fits like a key! Into the lock on the wall! I turn it over, I turn it over! But I can't escape! I turn it over, I turn it over!

Soon, the trial ended with the verdict ringing in his ears.

Not Guilty

He hated himself for not getting a guilty verdict and putting that killer where he belonged. He was truly alone now. His brother was dead. His fiancee was dead. And now, their unborn child was dead as well.

All because he ignored those texts.

I loved and I loved and I lost you...I loved and I loved and I lost you...I loved and I loved and I lost you...And it hurts like hell...
