4 Years Before RWBY Volume 1.

In Mistral*

Ash's POV*

I was sitting with my older sister Cinder eating lunch after we finished private school for the day.

I've noticed her growing more distant from me and our parents recently so we're spending some time together.

Cinder asked "Do you have your eye on anyone, Ash?".

I laughed and said "Nah, there's no girls here who interest me.".

Cinder rubbed my shoulder and said "Don't worry, you'll find the one someday.".

I smiled and asked "And what about you. Find any guys who interest you?".

She smiled and said "None that would ever hope to interest me.".

I smiled and jokingly said "Oh you poor thing.".

Cinder hit my shoulder and I started laughing.

After I stopped laughing and finished my lunch I asked "So will the infamous Cinder Fall be joining our family for dinner?".

Cinder's smile turned into a frown as she said "Can't, I got late night studies again.".

I rolled my eyes and asked "Why don't I see you anymore?".

Cinder got up and said "Because I'm training to become something better then the average Huntress.".

I sighed and said "Fine, I get it.".

I got up and hugged her.

I said "Goodbye Cinder.".

Cinder said "Goodbye.".

She let me go and walked away from me.

I went back home for the day and chilled out on my hammock.

Later*

I was having a nice dinner with my parents and we were talking.

My mother asked "How was your day at school honey?".

I said "It was nice, I let Cinder answer every question in class again, so that didn't leave me with much to do in class so I got some homework done for my other classes.".

My father asked "And will Cinder be joining us for dinner tonight?".

I said "Nah, she's got some late night studying-".

I was interrupted by the door to the house opening.

We all looked over to see Cinder with a dark look on her face.

I smiled and said "I thought you had late night studying.".

My mother asked "What's with the dark look honey?".

I looked at my mother then I looked back to see Cinder using her Fire Dust Semblance.

I stood up and asked "What're you doing, Cinder?".

She turned to me and said "What's necessary.".

She fired the Fire Dust at me and my parents.

I used my Ice Dust Semblance to block the Fire Dust.

I ducked and flipped the table over.

I looked back to see my parents on the ground on fire and the fire is spreading.
