Chapter 22

-Percy pov-

I couldn't sleep.

I tossed and turned and laid on my back but no matter what I was too not tired

So I did the obvious thing.

I put on my mask and good and decided to go out monster hunting in the woods

I mean, it's the only logical solution

I have found nO fReAkInG mOnStErS!!!

It's like I'm on a monster dry spell,

and usually being a son of Poseidon would be enough for monsters to be attracted to me, but being a son of Chaos as well? I should be dead by now!

ROOOOOOOAAAAAARRRRRR

Riley pov

(I know y'all already forgot about her, me too lol)

I couldn't sleep very well.

Closing my eyes and just trying my best to fall asleep wasn't working either

So I decided to go for a swim

I grabbed my bathing suit, my towel, my extra clothes, my bow and arrow, and my dagger

What? You never know what's lurking in the dark waiting to kill you

I opened the door quietly and closed it just as Silently

I got lost as soon as I stepped got out of my cabin

I mean, there were a lot of cabins all around me

And a lot of activities too so I didn't know where to go

I decided to head towards the woods

There would be a lake or something in there right?

Staring at the face of a monster I realized that I was wrong

So very, very WRONG

ROOOOOOOAAAAAARRRRRR

"Watch out!" A familiar voice shouted

I turned around and quickly dodged in time to see golden hair flying wild as Annabeth swung in on a vine and flipped off,landing on top of the monster, then sticking her knife into its head

She flipped off again, doing a double back tuck and landing perfectly as the monster dissolved into yellow dust

Wondering how I know this? 4 years of gymnastics

"Riley right? You okay?" Annabeth asked holding her out for me to grab a hold on so she could help me up

"Yeah I'm good," I repliedtaking her hand and getting up , "how do you know my name?"

"Thalia told me. She says you're pretty cool." Annabeth answered

I smiled, "Thanks, you're pretty cool too. Anyways what are you doing out here so late?"

She looked away, "me and my old boyfriend used to come here a lot because we couldn't sleep and monster hunting helped distract us,"

In the moonlight her hair looked pale yellow and she had shadows under her eyes. Her eyes were also red and puffy, as if she'd been...crying

"What about you? What're you doing here so late?" She countered

My face tinged pink as I looked down and said, "I couldn't sleep either so I wanted to go for a swim but I got kinda...lost."

"It's ok I can take you there," she laughed, "but can I come too?"

I nodded and we started walking to annabeth's cabin— the Athena cabin I think.

"Finally! Prepare to be destroyed monstooooooohhh who are you and what are you doing here?"Somebody in all black said as they charged into where me and annabeth were

Annabeth pulled out her knife again and I readied my bow and arrow

He lowered his sword arm and backed up a step

"Ok, calm down." He said in a familiar voice

"Why!" I asked

"Who are you?" Annabeth asked

Even though he was wearing a mask, I could practically hear his smirk as he said, "I'm omega, commander of the army of chaos"

I changed my target and let my arrow go, making it hit right above his head

"Sneak up on me ever again and the target's gonna be a little bit lower" I said, irritated

A small whimper came from his direction and annabeth gave me a look that said, nice shot as she kept moving

I trailed behind her

"Girls" Omega grumbled under his breath

Me and annabeth laughed but then I stopped

"What are you doing here by the way?" I asked

"None of your business," he replied

I pulled out my bow and arrow again, "you sure?"

He rolled his eyes, "I couldn't sleep so I came monster hunting "

"That's weird," I muttered

"Not really happens to everybody," he grumbled

"No, I mean it's weird that— never mind. You wanna come swimming with us?"

"Psh— no." He said

"Why? Worried we'll find out your identity?" Annabeth teased

Omega's voice turned as cold as ice when he said, "no, it wouldn't even matter since we're revealing our identities on our third day here, but I would still like to keep it secret as long as I can."

"Whatever," Annabeth said, "I'm going"

She speed walked to the cabin area

I turned toward Omega with an irritated tone In my voice , "you didn't have to be so rude!" I snapped

Because I now have a full wattpad schedule, I'd like to tell you that updates come every day

Monday- moonlight (hunters of Artemis and keeper of the lost cities)
Tuesday- Chaos army(perzoe)
Wednesday- as my best friend becomes love
Thursday-percabeth at goode
Friday-the praetors of Camp Jupiter at high school (pipercy)
